kmchow should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
'00 cars in '02 DTM?

So what's happening to all those first generation '00 DTM cars? I know the top works teams are using '02, semi-Works get '01, but what about '00 cars? Any lower rung beginner (Junior???) teams gonna get the '00 cars?? It would be a waste not to race them? Surely, these cars are good as grid fillers???

'00 cars in '02 DTM

Hi,

here my point of Opel view,

The '00 Astra's are update to '01 Astra in the '01 year 1 Astra is
no longer with us, it's gone in a test session.

One of the '00 Astra's is sold to a private driver, i think he will
be driving in 2002 also with that car.

The Ex '00 Reuter car is now in use as a promo car,
i have seen it on the Marlboro Masters in Zandvoort '01.

I think that al other Astra's are on OPC, like the Calibra's.
All the Calibra's from the Old DTM are in Germany !!!
Only 2 car's are missing the John Winter car that was on fire in 1994, and the first Reuter DTM/ITC car that one is also gone.

For example the 100 years Opel Motor Sport Car was/is the Ex Reuter car from 1994.
And the championchip car of 1996 is in the Opel Live musea like some other DTM Calibra's.

I know that some of the old DTM Omega EVO's are sold to private driver's in the UK, Germany and Belguim.

So are there brand new '02 versions? So the '01s Astras have been sold to privateers.

I thought I recall reading about one that is doing road racing somewhere in the Uk. Don't know what happened to it.

Hi,

there are two 00'Astra's sold to a private driver one of this car's is crash out in a test session.

There where 8 00'cars, 3 are built up to a 01' version and 1 is
the promocar that's the RCO 07 the Ex Reutercar of 2000.

There where 4 NEW 01' cars.

In 2002 Opel will start with 6 02'cars and some other older car's

Sofar i know the private driver will start in a upgrade 00'version.
