So KCMG just bought a new Oreca chassis..speaks volumes about the OAK side of things when a team switches to a different car after just one year..
With this split, could Ho-Pin Tung be drafted into Oak Racing - Team Asia for LM24, leaving KCMG on the search for another driver? This move also indicates KCMG's true commitment to AsLMS, leave the Morgan in Asia as a training tool for their FMCS drivers and go global with Oreca and WEC. Howson (Confirmed), Imperatori (Likely), ? Last edited by somebodysb2; 13 Feb 2014 at 15:44. |

On the GT side, AsLMS only has Craft's auto entry in for this year's LM24, Taisan is 2nd on the reserve list while AAI's not nominated.
Maybe have 2 GT class is a good idea, at least you've Ferrari(Taisan), Porsche(AAI) and Aston(Craft) racing against each other on the same plane. GTE and GTC(3) all in one class with BOP still seems strange to me. |

There is an issue with the 26 October date at Zhuhai. AsLMS were going to run there with China Touring Car Championship (CTCC), but CTCC is now going somewhere else to race. So AsLMS will likely have a date or venue change.

Turns out, the Craft-Bamboo merger means that the Eurasia Motorsport partnership has been severed.
Eurasia will now be getting in on the AsLMS action themselves, and are confirmed to be fielding an Oreca 03 in LMP2 and an unspecified LMP3 chassis. I expect their cars to be driven by a number of their FMCS drivers. In total, AsLMS has 4 confirmed LMP2 cars (5 when KCMG inevitably joins), 5 confirmed LMP3 cars, and 3 confirmed GT cars. |

Based on numbers I'd say it's better than last year. But classes where every contestant finishes on the podium are a nothing to get too excited about. But there's still time...

The Asian Le Mans Series will hold a race Thailand this year following a re-shuffle of its calendar. In a Sportscar365 exclusive, series boss Mark Thomas confirmed the championship will compete at the new Buriram International Circuit on Nov. 21-23.

How many P2 cars are they still expecting? Would be rather amusing if this... thing managed to grab more than WEC for their opener.
FIA Grade 1 track = everything is super. Not. It's telling that they have to cancel events due to other series not being there. |
