Monza'a new podium.
What a brilliant facility the new podium at Monza is, allows for the fans to get closer to the drivers as they celebrate, every circuit should have one!

The scene in the front of the podium was just incredible. What a venue!

lol...are the fans supposed to be thrilled that they are within 50 of their heroes instead of the previous 150 feet. Is this fan friendly? It's a step in the right direction I guess...

It allows for the fans to actually be close enough to be sprayed by the champagne, thats what makes it so good.

Can't help but believe that if one tenth of those fans had got onto the start finish straight at Silverstone, Bernie would have cited "woeful crowd control measures" as another reason for abolishing the British Grand Prix.

Yup it was a good one..I hope Montreal follows suit because its a great idea. The crowd was absolutely electric and it was nice to see an ex-Ferrari driver in Eddie Irvine on the podium as well...almost like a Ferrari homecoming!

Tim has a point actually, it might not work at other circuits around the world because fans aren't allowed onto the track until after the podium ceremonies.

They're not allowed on the track at Monza either, at least officially...

Well actually at Hungaroring they are officially allowed on track before the podium ceremony. (after the slow-down lap and only when the cars are in Parc Fermee)
