As good as they are, they only come out once a year and are finished in half a day!

Well, that's not quick reading really is it?
I'm not criticising, but it's hardly a substitute for a weekly magazine. It is an end of year annual, with beautiful photos. And a lot of stuff that has been read before. A permanent record of the year just gone. It can't really be compared with a magazine. |

You're right of course, Knowlesy, but it doesn't take up as much space as 52 mags either! If space is at a premium, and you don't want or need as much detail, I guess it's a reasonable alternative - well, sort of!

Well for the record I keep all my Autosports and buy Autocourse every year, so I'm not creating an argument by any means....
I love Autocourse for the photography and magazines for the numerous articles.... |

I do the same thing. But I think Autocourse is a very long and indept book, it's the best out there and worth the money. It takes very long to read as well compared to most other things....

I stopped buying autosport a while ago...it went the same way as "Q", the music magazine, dumbing down massively and playing favourites with the next big thing. I find it highly annoying now...the hyperbole around the reporting is ridiculous..."Nico can be the next Beckham"..what? Captain England? Marry a Spice Girl? shag Rebecca Loos?.
More likely he could be the next Button...talk a good story and get a front cover every two or three weeks, regardless of the result. Actually it's been a couple of weeks now since the last Button "the race for the title starts here" front cover...I guess thats next week sorted out! |

F1 Racing was saying Nico was the "next Beckham" for a few months as well.
I don't understand it, personally. Do we actually want a 'Beckham' in F1? |

Nico the next Beckham?
That is ridiculous, as clearly Beckham is the next Rosberg. |

Beckham is the next Nico, and Nico is the next Alonso. Alonso is the next Rossi, whilst Rossi is the next Surtees. This means that the next Surtees is the current Beckham. Therefore, Beckham is the next Surtees. This means that Beckham is actually the next Nico, the current Nico, the next Alonso, the current Alonso, the next Rossi, the current Rossi (as well as, as has already been pointed out, the next Surtees).
So, if in doubt, Beckham is the answer. He is the Ultimate Origin, Present, and Future. When all is said and done, this leaves us with an infinite cycle that is only resolved come to the End of Everything. Last edited by Dutton; 1 May 2006 at 01:40. Reason: Before you point out flaws in the "logic" of the this post, I would advise thinking about the purpose of this post. |

Ha! yet another Button cover this week!
New spin though, more "I will be fighting to keep my car in the points" than "I will be fighting for my first race win and the championship" Good to see that the "Button cover every other week" standard has maintained though...Bravo! |

its ok, but there are better mags out there...
Autosports ok if you like to look at all categories of motorsport. Its just better to buy the specialist sport mags like F1 racing |

I get F1 racing, but to describe that as better is ludicrous!
It's awful....the only reason I still subscribe is a combination of the fact I am too lazy to cancel and I like the photography. Although there is the occasional rip-snorting interview, admittedly... |

No but if you buy a copy of Autotrader and some coloured pencils you can spend a happy ten minutes making the road cars look like their racing cousing.
For additional reality turn to the salvage section and see what the cars look like post-race. |
