FIM Winners Game --> China

Second round of this game. The rules are as follows:

----------------------------------------------

Object of the game:
You have to guess the winner. You can put one, two, three or four riders as winners.

Scoring:
If you put one rider and he wins, you get 4 points.
If you put two two riders and one of them wins, you get 3 points.
In case you put 3 names and one wins, you get 2.5 points.
If you choose to put four names, and one of them wins, you get 2 points.
If you fail to guess the winner, you get 0 points.

Time limit:
Guesses can be done until one hour before the first race (125, 250 or MotoGP). Usually it will be one hour before 125 race.

Remarks:
Every FIM GP three guesses can be entered: for 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. Those are three differents games, so you can enter only one or two categories if you like.

Appart from the three classifications (125, 250 and MotoGP), I'll put a "global" classification adding all of them.

The key of the game is to predict the winner putting the least possible numbers of candidates. But if you put too few riders, you risk getting 0 points!

Example:

Let's suppose in Jerez you had put these guesses:
125 = Simoncelli, P.Nieto, Lai (you get 2.5 points for Simoncelli)
250 = Porto, Dovizioso (you get 0 point, you failed)
MotoGP = Gibernau, Rossi (you get 3 points for Rossi)

We will do a final classification in the middle of the season. after that, we will evaluate how the game has gone, and in case it is OK, we will do another classification for the second part of the season.

gomick: only 1 round behind! (Portugal, we didn't play in Jerez)

I see both of you goes bravely with one rider per race! It can be good because guessing rightly just one race you get 4 points, not a bad total. If someone gets three winners right, (s)he will get 12 points! It's enough to lead the game for many rounds

Anyway, I think I'll be more conservative, nominating several riders... it went well in Portugal for me. I'll try to wait until after Q2 to have an "unfair advantage"

gomick: That's incredible! 100% success guessing poles! Yes, it is a pity they are not going to win the races...

This 2nd round there are more people playing; more chances to have a good laugh at our respective failures!

It's Dovizioso, last year's 125 champion.

Then my pick for 250: Stoner, Pedrosa

Yahoo says 70% prob for rain... it complicates matter, of course.

125cc: Simoncelli, Kallio (Simoncelli was very good last year in Jerez in torrential rain)
250cc: Pedrosa, Stoner, Dovizioso (Pedrosa hates rain but he is too good to leave him out)
MotoGP: Gibernau, Rossi (I see an open race if it rains, but the problem is I DON'T know who nominate! Rossi is unhappy with the bike and he doesn't like "water" but I think he can do magic any time)

Please, remember the time limit is one hour before the first race.

Good fun for everyone seeing the races... and counting points in this game!

Rain was menacing to mess all the forecasts , but in the end 250cc and MotoGP were pretty "normalw" in terms of winners. Anyway, many of those who risked nominating just one name had a big reward this round.

Category 1255cc was a disaster for us , nobody got points! In 250cc gomick and Wingman won risking all the bet to Casey. MotoGP was similarly won by Dani Filth (he was having bad luck formerly) and marcus going all the way for Rossi.

The "Gibernaus" were the losers in this particular event, but I think it was a good bet (in fact I guessed first for Sete and as a side guess for Rossi).

In total, this round was won by Blue and I got the same score as well.
Code:
CHINA

125cc:
(everybody 0)

250cc:
gomick 4
Wingman 4
asha 3
Bleu 3
Hazza 2.5
Schummy 2.5

MotoGP:
Dani Filth 4
marcus 4
Schummy 3
Bleu 2.5

Total:
Bleu 5.5
Schummy 5.5
Dani Filth 4
marcus 4
gomick 4
Wingman 4
asha 3
Hazza 2.5

In the Championship, in the difficult 125cc we have the same positions as last round: x_dt leads the table, closely followed by asha.

250cc leaders are gomick and Wingman, remember in Jerez we didn't get any points in this category!

In MotoGP, I'm lucky to be in front with Dani Filth and marcus not far at all.

In the total championship classification, I lead, with Bleu jumping up to 2nd position, and Hazza going solidly in 3rd.

Different strategies here, some choose to risk just one rider, others prefer to spread the guess, lastly some others choose a mixed approach combining risk and conservative guesses in different categories. Let's see who will get the upper hand in the next GPs!
Code:
CHAMPIONSHIP:

125cc:
x_dt 3
asha 2.5
Bleu 2
Hazza 2
Schummy 2

250cc:
gomick 4
Wingman 4
asha 3
Bleu 3
Hazza 2.5
Schummy 2.5

MotoGP:
Schummy 5.5
Dani Filth 4
marcus 4
Bleu 2.5
Hazza 2

Total:
Schummy 10
Bleu 7.5
Hazza 6.5
asha 5.5
Dani Filth 4
marcus 4
gomick 4
Wingman 4
x_dt 3

Hazza: at least you have "regularity" , I'm last on two of the three cats, and I'm surprisingly leading!

I have the sensation that the "risky boys" here are going to blow us out of the top positions... Ummm, I'm looking for France.
