Good news!
Reuter, Frentzen, Dumbreck and Fassler will drive a new Vectra. Who are the other Opel drivers? |

Has HHF ever race any Touring Cars before? I'm guessing perhaps he's had a go at the DTM in the early 90's ??

Not as far as I know. But he raced sportscars for Mercedes in the early '90s.

I think BMW will not enter DTM because of Mercedes, there are old pains between them. |

Surely Aiello wouldn't join Opel just to race in an Astra?! Come back to Britain Laurent! And I can't believe they would put Menu in an Astra while those 4 have the Vectras? Maybe Menu's on his way back to Britain! Last edited by ATF; 12 Dec 2003 at 22:07. |

All we need is to have Schumacher "retire" from F1 in '04 and race in '05 in a Alfa 157(??)???

the only question about Paffett is whether he will drive works Mercedes or not,but he will drive a Mercedes, you are right about Aiello though he is 'highly likely' only.

Has Alesi's status been upgraded? Previously, people often referred to his drive as being a "guest drive"? It's not really a regular seat? Does that mean he got less attention/car preparation?

Hmmm, I wonder if there is a chance Jacque Villeneuve can get a DTM seat. Then we can we have Alesi, Frentzen and Villeneuve racing in the DTM. And if Villeneuve races in the DTM, it will give DTM some more coverage here in NA!

I don't think Villeneuve will have any desire to drive in DTM...but he did say that NASCAR was a possibility...so I guess anything can happen! It would be a shame to see him on the sidelines doing nothing though.

I don't think he has ever really had a great passion for racing, in general. He said once that cars and racing doesn't particularly interest him. I think he's in it for the competition...and maybe the money too...

MERCEDES
Bernd Schneider Jean Alesi Christijan Albers Gary Paffett - 95% sure OPEL Laurent Aiello Heinz-Harald Frentzen Manuel Reuter Peter Dumbreck Marcel Fässler AUDI Frank Biela Emmanualle Pirro Tom Kristensen Mattias Ekström Christian Abt Martin Tomcyzk Looking like a strong line-up so far. I think the only other top driver not to be confirmed (yet) is Alain Menu! |

So Opel enters 5 new Vectra's? It's a very strong line up and they need to score podium finishes in 2004.
