Kevin Brinklow RIP.

(I apologize for having firstly submitted this on the Marshals Needed section by mistake.)
I found out this morning that Kevin Brinklow, a marshal of very long standing passed away last Saturday. Kevin will be remembered by a large number of marshals. He was a good and pleasurable man to be on post with. My condolences to his family and friends.

Sad news indeed. Even though I haven 't seen Kevin for a long while I remember trips to various circuits with both him and his parents.

I went a long way back with Kevin. We used to marshal midweek testing at Donington when Kevin was between jobs and I was a student.
He had a serious motorcycle accident that smashed up his feet. He could only wear sandals due to the pins sticking out of his toes. We used to joke about dragging him through the sand traps as a rake to smooth out the marks left by errant cars.
He was a vegan and during the summer seemed only to eat strawberries.
On another occasion he wanted to camp at Donington but the grass was very long. He found an area with shorter grass and pitched up. About an hour later circuit staff arrived to move him on as he was occupying the helipad!

I saw him from time to time and I believe he became a plumber. I really enjoyed our days together so was saddened to hear of the passing of another marshalling friend.
