DALY should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Edwina Trophy Mallory 8 August

Message regarding the event;

Dear fellow FF1600 racers,

Please find attached the race entry details. The entry is limited to 42 starters for qualifying (2 x 21) and then first 7 in each session form first 14 in the final, the other 14 from each session (28) will race for the last 14 positions on the grid. Do you follow that?

(14 quick people get one race, 14 slow people get one race, 14 in the middle get two races!) ALL FOR £140.

I am arranging with Mallory Park an opportunity to test on 4th August (Weds am) with an exclusive 30 minutes additional session during the lunch break for FF1600.

Many thanks to
Mallory Park (Motorsport) Ltd
Mr R Overend
Hewitt Motorsports Ltd
John Miller esq
Daly Systems Ltd

For the collective prize fund of £2000. Please support the race if you can.

James Beckett for sorting out the class trophies and his knowledge and assistance to the cause.

message from MSCC;

MK9 on Avons guide is:

15/36 20/31 23/28 25/26

Mallory is:

15/35 19/31 22/28 24/26

Why not just get Mallory gears ready in the 93 and race that @ Mallory.

Probably because it would be more fun whipping your butts in a 1972 car. I'll be there [in my DT jacket, he adds hastily] to watch all the action.

Coz i've got more chance of a return of my entry in the Merlyn without being speared off at the hairpin !!

Thats 10s - so later cars. Leave the gearing the same - the class E competition isn't good enough to beat you if you ran a 30/24 top gear!

I should point out that for the Edwina races there is just two classes, split at 1987.

Fowler's not bad and don't forget Peter Hackett. OK then, forget Peter Hackett if you must.

Entries have only just opened Paul! Patience! I imagine it will be most of the usual SOM people (even the ones who don't venture out much) plus the likes of Howson, Hodgen - maybe Minshaw...

I hope to do it as a non SOM driver.

The only downside is we have Angelsey the week after. But that should not be too bad. I need to play catch up!!

Not forgetting your Oulton comeback race the week before.
As you will have only done - for various reasons not worth delving into again - one out of the first eight rounds of a twelve round championship [NW FF1600], it is one helluva game of catch up you will be playing.
