Couple of Questions:
1.where will the Australian round for the A1 GP will be held. I think it might be held in Albert Park???
2.Does anyone know who will be showing the A1 GP on Austrlian TV???
3. Who are all the drivers who have been confirmed to race in the A1 GP this year???
4. Who are all the countries competing this year

1 - It wouldn't be Albert Park, but there will be a round in Australia, I'm sure

2 - No

3 - The series doesn't start until the end of September, it's a bit early on that one

4 - AFAIK, 13 countries including UK and Australia are confirmed as cars, 23 are provisionally booked - there will be up to 30 in total.

Don't think the Australian TV or race venue has been sorted yet.
Smilarly with drivers - I believe the franchise seat holders can haev a different driver for each race if they wanted - it's about the countries not simply the drivers.
Countries announced so far - South africa, China, Lebanon, Pakistan, Portugal, UK, Australia, Canada, Malaysia.

Don't forget the whole thing is still 7 months away and I expect there's a lot of things already confirmed but not yet announced.

UK seat holder said last year that they will use two drivers for their team.

Confirmed teams : http://www.formule2.com/a1gp_engages.php . The schedule on the right is false.

Robbie Kerr and Ralf Firman have tested the A1 car, maybe Adam Carroll?

I hope the Australian round is in Western Australia

That will be VERY unlikly because even though We are the biggest state in Australia yet we get the least amount of everything and are excluded out of EVERYTHING!

Does anyone know where to find a calandar of the races in the series? I am off to Dubai in November and wondered if by chance I'd be there at the right time.

There is no calendar yet - apart from the Brands Hatch date - just a vague list of intended venues in an imaginary order.

R1 will be at Brands, UK on Sep 25th. It was originally scheduled a week earlier but moved because of a congested domestic weekend for British motorsport.

Dubai was intended for R1, probably now R2, so one would speculate mid-October.

The series will conclude in March/April time, thus providing a winter alternative for F1 fans.

Some TV deals have been signed - live rights in the Uk are with Sky Sports. Hopefully they'll be some terrestrial coverage otherwise the series might truggle to get an initial fan base.

The A1 car was driven at the Jan autosport show and looked good; Brands should be great!

Only if it's on the GP circuit as JP (motorsport vision) has said it will be.

There has been some suggestion of Eastern Creek as a location for the Australian round.

Also, I believe Alan Jones has a shortlist of about half a dozen young drivers that he is evaluating for the seat in the Australian team.

Pakistan is the first "team" to name its driver. Skip Barber racing School graduate and FMazda champ Nur B Ali, a graduate of the Skip Barber Racing School and previous champion of the US-based Formula Mazda series will drive their Dallara. More info in Crash.net http://www.crash.net/uk/en/news_view...=26&nid=105907

India have confirmed a team entry according to today's MN. I have a feeling that their team boss is some bloke called Chandhok. I'm thinking there may be an obvious candidate for the drive...

the indian project is backed by a company called sahara computer systems.

i'm still awaiting to see what happens budget-wise on the WS. and contrary to what you heard matthias, there isn't a chandhok running the team i assure you !! given the winter calendar, it means that i could potentially do both the WS and A1 given the opportunity.

i'd love to be a part of the a1 program, because i'm a bit of a sucker for patriotism and dearly would like to see the indian team do well. apart from narain i'm the only other one with good competitive european racing experience at the moment and do think that it makes me a candidate for the seat.

i haven't heard anything from the A1 people yet though it's still early days.
