Which Autocourse CART annuals do you own?

Inspired by the similar thread on the F1 board about which F1 review videos people own...

There have been 10 Autocourse CART (or IndyCar) annuals since the first one in 1993 so the poll is straightforward - Autocourse CART 2003/4 should be out in January 2004 (can anyone confirm?)

(have them all bar 2001/2)

Amazon says the 2003/04 book is out in January. Don't think I'll be getting it though!

I'll have all but the first two. And I've already pre-ordered the 2003-04 book. There books are treasures, you ought to get one DriverT!

Hmmm, reading the thread title it astounded me to see posts from UK people in this thread.....how rare!!

I must keep an eye out in my local bookshops then...*thinks* Hmmmmm, maybe if I go NOW, they'll still have last years before updating to this years in January!

I need some CART memorabila, the only thing I have is the Indycar 93 review (and then that was only bought for me because it had Nige on the front!)

Most out-of-print Autocourse CART annuals are available on the Chaters website (just search for Autocourse IndyCar or Autocourse CART) and none of them for inflated prices (unlike Autocourse annuals which can cost a packet). It may be possible to get them even cheaper on eBay - if anyone is selling any that is .

Never thought about that, sorry...
Though there is only a maximum of 10 options that can be put in a poll. Perhaps something one of the mods could add in (?)

Been lurking for awhile and this thread got me to looking through my Autocourse CART Yearbook collection and it seems that I have a special Firestone Edition 95-96 Yearbook with Scott Pruett's #20 Patrick Racing Firestone/Pennzoil Ford/Cosworth Lola T95 on the jacket cover. It appears that 95 was Firestone's return to champcar racing after a 20 year absence. Also, was Patrick Racing's return after a 3 year absence. I also have the CART 79-98 20 year history edition.

Chaters do have most of them in stock (as they do most Autocourse since the mid-1960s). Though they don't seem to have 1996,1998 and 2000 - for the moment at least.

I also have the 20 year book by Autocourse on CART that came out in 99, that option seems to be missing as well???

I actually think that was the best one of them all!

1995 and 2002. Not special reasons for those, if I would have then I should have 1998 and even 2003, because of JJ Lehto and Mika Salo.

I think the best one is the 1995 one (loads of Jacques in it...)

The 20 year special, does it have much in the way of detailed season reviews for 79-98, or is it just articles about the big movements in cart like technology, rules changes, penske and the domination of unser/andretti? I see Amazon has the 20 year special and cart autocourse 2002/03 for US$53

There are brief synopses of the seasons but it is primarily about the politics and the contribution made to CART over those years by, for example, the drivers (including the Unsers, Andrettis, Mears, Mansell, etc), the engine manufacturers, the constructors and the teams. Good book, though.
And yes, the Splits with USAC and IRL get their mention as well.

Shops like Amazon have the book in stock though cheaper copies can be found from second-hand sources such as eBay.

With regard to Autocourse CART 2003/4; according to Amazon UK:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...461634-1782867
it isn't available until April.
Is this when its being published? They aren't waiting for the takeover to be finished are they?

If you have a look at the official site of Autocourse it gives the publishing schedule for all the books in the series, the last on the list is the CART Autocourse 03/04 book and the date is TBA, (Rallycourse is down as Jan 04) so you can probably take it, it may be getting on for April time. Having said that in November, Amazon had the publish date of Autocourse 03/04 as Jan 04, yet it was released on the 3rd December.

Laura Fell, from Autocourse told me this today:

"We are working on the book as we speak and are very much hoping for a January 2004 finish as we predicted. In theory then the book will be available as of Jan 04 although as I am sure you understand this cannot be absolutely guaranteed."

I pre-ordered it from Amazon.co.uk and it always said "Jan 04"...

Number 1 in the top ten has to be Maria, from Monterrey.
