Hey Barry, all your cars look particularly well prepped and attractive. Love the F750 weapon, absolutely evil!

As for the high jump attempt - well, as a Marshal, I've seen a few of these type of incidents and the first thing I (we?) hope for is driver OK (crossfingers)closely followed by car easily repaired! I tend to stop my heart and hold my breath as well - so please - try not to get into these situations if ya can help it! - Cheers

The driver was fine but the car was not so good! It took me about a month to rebuild it and I went to a test at Brands to do a shake-down, just five minutes before the end of the day another driver banged wheels with me under braking for Paddock Hill bend and turned me sharp left into the armco.Loaded it back onto the trailer with only two wheels on it.Bank manager and wife not very impressed!

One of those days you should not get out of bed!

Tragic, but at least you were able to load the pieces back on the trailer Is the F750 still in the stable? what engine?

I only raced the F750 for a season then had to retire for several years due to a heart condition. It was originally built by two mechanics who worked at Shadow (the F1 team), if you look closely you can see the nose cone is an F1 nose without the wings. I sold it to a Classic Saloon racer based somewhere in the Midlands, I have no idea where it is now. They were called F750 because they were powered by Reliant 750cc engines, very highly modified and very highly likely to break! The class still runs in the UK but next season the engine regs are changing to incorporate a Fiat 1000cc engine which will be less highly stressed and hopefully more reliable. It's a great class for the home builder, most cars are designed and built by private individuals with very innovative designs, I remember one car running in '79 when I competed which had the engine laying flat on its side to lower the centre of gravity.
