Thruxton 13th August TR8 fire
As one of the competitors in the CSCC Future Classics race at Thruxton last Saturday, I'd just like to say a Big thanks to the marshals for the excellent work putting out the Triumph TR8 fire on the chicane. The fast response certainly saved the car and allowed the race to continue after a short safety car period. Unfortunately it was the first circuit race for the driver Jon Fox, he'd been doing rallies previously and the car was still very much in Rally trim. My wife was watching from the stands and rushed over to the Pitlane from where the incident couldn't be well seen to find Jon's better half and give reassurance that he'd got out OK. Hopefully the car will be mended and we will see them out again soon at a future CSCC meeting.
