Never heard of Monza not being raced for 2001 FIA Formula 3000 International Championship like it is scheduled, why would it be dropped anyway?

It's still part of the "official" calendar on FIA's website:
http://www.fia.com/Calendrier/F3000/...000_2001-a.htm P.S.: To my opinion, the site is not known for it's accuracy and it's rapidity to display newsconcerning F3000 though, so if anyone as more details on this, please post it here. |

I certainly hope Mark Webber triumphs this year in f3000, for he is such a talented driver who has pulled himself up to the top again after the le mans flip which left him in the cold. So i hope he can make the jump to F1 next year as it would be nice to see an aussie at the top again since Alan Jones in the 80's.

well, i hope it's monza cause it would be far more fun to go back to monza than to go to belgium... and less expensive, hopefully...
i'm gonna find that programme tonight, but it's still on the autosport calendar as well. |

I'm still hoping that Justin Wilson will do it.

I don't know about hoping... but it looks more and more likely after yesterday now, doesn't it? Certainly Enge has made too many silly mistakes and has lost valuable points in the prosess. You don't normally see championship winners make that many mistakes and still take the championship. Webber can still win it, if he can find a way of returning to his winning ways. Still, Wilson looks like mr. Consistency this season, and is by far the most likely champion based on that. You have to wonder what could have happened if Pizzonia hadn't received that 10 sec stop and go penalty in Brazil though, haven't you. He would have had 32 points, Wilson would have had 45, Pizzonia would in that case have been a title contender at this stage, and with the form he's showing now, who knows? Still, water under the bridge I suppose...
