rossiter was uncharacteristicly low down the order. hopefully it wont be wet in the second sessions because he would make a good race if he was a bit further up. not that it will stop asm and mercedes from dominating.....
im surprised kane has took that lola to provisional 4th. knew he was pretty quick (gave viso a run for his money a couple of years back, pretty decent first season abroad last year....which i think was the result of a team boss reading this very forum!!!) di grassi must love this circuit as he was quick last year too. |

Odd numbers Q2 just ended. Hamilton improved to 1:31.1747 to take provisional pole. Kane fell off early on, but was only pipped by Paul di Resta, so remains 5th or 6th.
Sun now shining. It had clouded over, with drops of rain at the start of the last session. |

He wasn't too hopeful after Q1, but they're on track now.

rossiter painfully slow. must be his car as his ability outweighs just about everyone at this race except maybe hamilton.

I've heard the oversteer word mentioned...
Di Grassi was fastest in evens Q2, but not as quick as Sutil had been in Q1. |

This not official, because the grid will not issued until after the morning warm-up, and the last few places are curious because there were 19 cars in one group and 17 in the other, but I think the way they will line up tomorrow looks like this:
01. Lewis Hamilton 02. Adrian Sutil 03. Paul di Resta 04. Lucas Di Grassi 05. Steven Kane 06. Franck Perera 07. Kohei Hirate 08. Giedo van der Garde 09. Marco Bononomi 10. Alvaro Parente 11. Loic Duval 12. Esteban Guerreri 13. Hannes Neuhauser 14. Sebastien Vettel 15. Marko Asmer 16. Mike Conway 17. Charlie Kimball 18. Bruno Senna 19. Christian Bakkerud 20 Guillaume Moreau 21. James Walker 22. Greg Franchi 23. Dan Clarke 24. Ho-Pin Tung 25. Atila Abreu 26. Alejandro Nunez 27. Ross Zwolsman 28. James Rossiter 29. Ferdinand Kool 30. Ryan Lewis 31. Stephen Jelley 32. Alvaro Barba 33. Thomas Holzer 34. Keiko Ihara 35. Ronayne O’Mahony 36. Nico Verdonck |

Something tells me planning the Masters in June wasn't a smart move.
Usually there were plenty of spectators for the Saturday sessions, today most places were almost deserted. With the weather expectation and all the other events in Holland tomorrow (Red Bull Air Race for example) i doubt it's going to hit the 50.000 spectators as expected. Looking at the pictures I took it seems the programme wasn't really interesting either today. I have 1 Surinam Airways 747, 2x Dakota, 1x Blackhawk and the 9 airplanes for the Red Bull Air Race in between the F3 and F1 cars Never made any airplane picture at Zandvoort despite the planes coming over almost every minute. |

Stranger's right. Zandvoort is a seaside town and the holiday season doesn't start until the school holidays begin. It's all very quiet.
In the morning warm-up, Steven Kane went straight on at Tarzan in what was a nasty looking shunt. He is fine, but the medics have decided that it would be sensible for him not to race this afternoon, even if the car could be repaired. The re-shuffled grid order is now: 01. Lewis Hamilton 02. Adrian Sutil 03. Paul di Resta 04. Lucas Di Grassi 05. Kohei Hirate 06. Franck Perera 07. Marco Bonanomi 08. Giedo van der Garde 09. Loic Duval 10. Alvaro Parente 11. Hannes Neuhauser 12. Esteban Guerreri 13. Marko Asmer 14. Sebastien Vettel 15. Charlie Kimball 16. Mike Conway 17. Christian Bakkerud 18. Bruno Senna 19. James Walker 20 Guillaume Moreau 21. Dan Clarke 22. Ho-Pin Tung 23. Atila Abreu 24. Alejandro Nunez 25. Ross Zwolsman 26. James Rossiter 27. Ferdinand Kool 28. Ryan Lewis 29. Stephen Jelley 30. Alvaro Barba 31. Thomas Holzer 32. Keiko Ihara 33. Ronayne O’Mahony 34. Nico Verdonck James Rossiter was 6th this morning, which suggests they have found what was wrong with his car, but he has a mountain to climb from 26th on the grid. |

Watching the live cast now and it still doesn't look crowded. The 'famous' places have a lot of people but also loads of empty, green spots.

Mattias and Gaz called it, the Euroseries is broken. With the demise of Formulal Ford as a place to do your racing 'university' you're now better off doing Class B in Britain, or Italian/German/Spanish F3 and learning your trade before moving onto something like World Series.

Absolutely right Russfeld there really is just no point turning up to an event like this or to a Euroseries round unless your in an ASM car.
Fair enough given most cars I'm sure Hamilton would probably have won this weekend but its ridiculous how much of an advantage this team has for whatever the reasons be. The others just don't get a look in in the slightest. The one thing you can say is that this could be good for the British series as a lot of guys might see this fact and decide to spend their money here and have a chance of actually competing. To me it seems that Mercedes and ASM are going to kill the Euroseries dead as well as International F3 events such as this one. |

if you dont have asm or at least a mercedes, going to euro f3 is like dreaming for 3rd place. i missed the race because stupidly i got my times mixed up with them being an hour ahead but when i turned on the stream to see hamilton being interviewed i just said well done lewis and got back to what i was doing before. it seems sutil got second, well no surprises there then....the f3 euroseries just isnt interesting. its a mini f1 2002. i knew thats what would happen when it was given all this very proffesional look about it. i suppose its a good way to train for f1 because in f1, you are nowhere if you are in the wrong team...
well done asm and lewis though. any team who can take eric salignon and adrian sutil to the podium of the marlboro masters is doing something right... |

without wishing to labour the point, Lewis was 7 1/2 seconds ahead of his (asm) team mate going intop the last lap and nacked off to reduce the margin. I seem to recall he wasn't too shabby in his Manor car last year or indeed in UK FR or karting....

Lewis Hamilton is awesome! It looks as if he made the right decision to stay in F3 and not go to GP2, as he is probably going to add the euroseries title to his name, as well as all of the prestigious non-championship events, if he doesn't make any mistakes.

I absolutely agree Hamilton is an awesome prospect and fully deserved the win, not so sure he's learning alot though as he's just going out and blitzing the field every weekend. Due to a combination of both his talent and by far the best car he never finds himself involved in any kind of physical battle or if he does its very rare. Not saying he has no race craft as I've seen it and its superb but I'm sure just waltzing away to win by 7 secs each weekend isn't actually teaching him much.
I'm sure if he was in GP2 he would have learnt a lot more in terms of racecraft and that side of things and possibly how to develop a car with it being the first year of the formula and things being developed all the time. |
