Max wants costs cut as a matter of urgency!

Max proposes a 50% cut in spending and asks the teams to come up with rules for 2011,but gives suggestions.

The Snout should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Give those rising costs a good spanking, Max.

I've no doubt that they'll have a 'whip-round' for him when he decides to go.

Anyway,he seems to have set quite a challenge doesn't he.

Too many jokes in the suggestions. Limiting costs will be difficult. 2 million Euro per a fancy engine, that would be selling at a loss. 50% less fuel use but with the same lap times, sounds like something you read about on the internet.

F1 has for ages restricted technology that you can find on street cars, VVT, direct injection, turbos, all of which improve fuel economy.

Just set a maximum dyno tested level of horsepower and limit total amount of fuel (like they are planning) and you would see some improvements.

Maybe Max should have a word with Bernie and tell him to stop bloating the race calendar.

BTW, according to the F1 website, the F1 cars average about 75 liters per 100 km in fuel economy. An Audi R10 race cars uses only 42 liters per 100 km in a race where there is a lot of wot. (Le Mans)

42 per 100 km is almost 50% less than current F1 race cars.

Just something to think about.

If he wants costs cut, then he should whip them until they bleed

Cost cutting means there will have to be lay-offs somewhere along the chain, lay-offs mean less jobs, less jobs means more competition, more competition means less likely of working in F1. Yeah, I hope they don't cut costs.

Trouble with Max's cost cutting measures is that they invariably end up costing the teams more.
