Mid-Ohio replaces Montreal in NNS

Found this tidbit of news very interesting... exciting, too! New prospects for NASCAR, perhaps.

That is interesting... especially since it is a week after the typical Indycar/ALMS weekend.

I'm trying to figure out how they make this work. Obviously, they'll have to do the start over on the back side. However, the big thing is that they're about 12 pit stalls short, even factoring in the field reduction from 43 to 40 cars.

Many, many years ago the backmarkers had to share stalls at Martinsville, Norht Wilkesboro, and maybe Bristol.

It's two weeks actually: IndyCar / ALMS on August 3-4, Nascar Nationwide on August 17. They should have swapped the race with Michigan - there's a Cup race on August 17, and Grand-Am races at Mid-Ohio on June 15.

Can't see pit stalls being a problem. With the amount of S&P going on in the NNS lately you only need 30-35 stalls. By the time the races are a 3rd of the way through the field is usually down to about that number.

By the way, i don't necessarily have a problem with S&P - these teams employ people after all and need to make a living. But I guess thats another debate. I may start a thread.........

As much as I think Mid-Ohio is a great new venue for NASCAR Nationwide, I am gonna miss Montreal as it did provide some great races. But with the way Mid-Ohio is set out, it should provide some thrilling action.

Be good to see Ambrose race there & Road America - tick them off as venues he run well at before eventually coming home!

I will miss Montreal, but I like Mid-Ohio as a replacement. Atleast they didn't pick Mosport!

You root for Ambrose, so you don't want him to race at Mid-Ohio? I still don't understand.

Come on, man... Mosport would've been way better!!

The best would have been at Road Atlanta... which is on the radar for a cup race, supposedly.

I love Mid-Ohio, but what in god's creation do you have against Mosport. Maybe the best road course in North America.

The Truck series at Mosport will outdraw the Nationwide series at Mid-Ohio. It would be a great place for a Nationwide race, and the Truck series is going to prove that this coming Labour Day weekend.
