Huge accident as Bushell pulls out of the pits and makes contact with Belcher who was on a hot lap. Looks like both guys are ok but the cars?... probably not repairable.

Agree with Harvey about this track limits thing. Seems a little needless to say the least!

If it is a broken femur as suspected then that is him done for the season i reckon. 4-6 month recovery.

Dan Welch out after crash... Wilmot suffered another engine failure...Wonder what he is thinking right now... I can't remember the last time Welch Motorsport completed all 3 races, Its a shame as they seem like a nice bunch

How bad do Welch have to do for Alan Gow to "have a word"? Not that I want to see it turn out like that, but surely its getting to a point where they need to shape up or risk losing their TBLs?

El_cat your not the only one thinking that! You have to give them credit for having a go at doing their own engine but there must come a point were enough is enough and for the sake of their own reputation ditch it and take the TOCA unit.

Bushell has severe ligament damage to his hip and left leg.

Belcher is saying on Facebook that the car is beyond repair for tomorrow and possibly Oulton Park.

Was a horrible day yesterday, Welch was running fairly competitively (the best he's run for 2 seasons!) before the smash which appears typical of the teams work.Whilst Wilmot was off the pace could it be down to the fact it's the first time he's ever been to the track (I'm sure I remember him saying) and the first time he's properly driven the car. Welch were apparently going to switch Dan's engine into Andy's car but I don't know if that'll be done.

The Belcher/Bushell crash was horrible. Just horrible. Nothing either driver really could've done and it's knocked both of them out of the series for a wee while. Two guys who have endured terrible luck since they joined the series. I hope Mike gets well soon and Simon can get the car mended in time for Oulton but with a tight budget this may be a big struggle for him.

Hunter Abbott had a big hit in quali' as well, whilst the car should be fixable he said he was feeling quite sore. Rob had another woeful qualifying as well.

The other thing that was disappointing was the Infiniti continuing to be plagued by power steering issues. Akin to Welch's engine problems the Infiniti's reliability is becoming a bit of a joke. Coupled with the driver change which was handled (seemingly very unprofessionally) have made the team look like a bit of a joke.

With severe ligament damage how long will Mike be out for, medical people? Would be a real shame if his season was ended before it had properly begun.

Without Welch, Bushell, Belcher, Martin, 2 x Motorbase Focuses and possibly no Abbott plus any cars who receive damage in the first two races we could be down to 2005 levels of cars starting race 3.

Here's hoping for 3 clean, incident free races today, although after last years races at Thruxton it doesn't look likely.

How about Wilmot refuses to pay until he gets a TOCA engine.

Welch are simply pathetic, letting themselves down and there's no doubt they're the joke of the series. Shame for Wilmot as he is paying for a total waste of several weekends.

Really wish Bushell a speedy recovery, also hope Belcher can repair his car soon! Thruxton really isn't kind to him!

looks almost like the glory days of 2011 for Honda, long time we haven't a 1-2 for them

would be good to see Josh Cook with reverse grid at the front

both INFINIT actually finished

It's funny seeing Matt Neal's still taller than Shedden despite being the step below him on the podium...

...very good GJ race and MSAF, watch it now!
