Hi matey, the Anglia with the chequered roof was not Terry Stone, it was Terry McNally. I raced against Terry McNally for many seasons. Sadly not with us any more.

I saw John Kirk drive it at Mallory and that was the last time I saw it. Never heard of the Escort again.

groupseven should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hello all, very quite on this forum for some time. I wonder if anyone can lead me to photos of the interior, and engine compartment, or any detail photos, of the Ian Richardson "anglian nuts and bolts" V8 Corvair . a clear shot of the logo on the side with the figure, would help also. I am planning to build a model of this car, and any extra references would be a great help. does this car still exist ?

Ian Richardson was until recently involved/was Wildcat engineering in the UK.Specialsiing in their own heads and equipment for Rover /Buick v8 engines. I'm pretty sure that if you googled the same you would find info re who now owns/runs the company, which could possibly get you a link to Mr Richardson. He may well have the info you need re the corvair that he was involved with.

Hope this helps.

The car was bought by Gerry Marshall and tucked away on a farm in Hertfordshire for a time (John Pope's farm?) before being sold on and owned eventually by DB Motors in Leicester. I think the car was then savaged to return the suspension and running gear to it's original form - either F5000 or big banger sports racer - I forget which. I don't know if the body/centre section still exists. My brother and I nearly bought the car at the end of 1977 and met GM at a pub before he took us on an 'interesting' ride to the farm to look at the Corvair. It was looking a bit shabby but fired up and we drove it round the farmyard a few times to make sure it was all there and working but it quickly overheated. We didn't buy it as it was just out of our price range but I've always regretted not getting it. I think the Corvair was the best SuperSaloon of the period - even better than Baby Bertha - and I think GM thought the same.

From memory, the Corvair raced at Donington painted white in 1980.

I think that would have been when DB Motors owned the car as I'm sure that was their colour-scheme. (Baby Bertha was also painted white when they owned that).

Anyone have any such pictures?
Thanks
Hi, I have pictures of the car. Our family business at the time was Brook Hire in Liverpool. Is the car still about?

Hi Rhodesbrook,
Chase106 does still have the car and would love to see the pictures you have, as would I, as I tracked the car down for Chase106, plus my late father was Gerry Marshall, so he raced against the car numerous times, plus it was built and re-built by DTV.
