perhaps Thailand round would be no runner-up entries as several teams opts not to travelling ,well looks like Elcars and RQ's themselves are among of it

One last thing though, had the Class One regulations failed to unify again, I feel that JAF/GTA would abandon it in favor of a souped-up version of the GTE/GT3 regulations. Imagine the big 3 manufacturers running GTE cars with tons of horsepower and it might reach closer to GT1.

I think like you, the GTE regulation is the best way for the Supergt.
The big 3 manufacturers could race in Le Mans that is very important for the Japanese.
Sincerely after so much time of negotiations I do not think that they have an agreement between JAF and GTA.

Some say that having GTE regulations is a bad idea due to how it's slower than LMP2, but I'd say that it should be the way to go for GT500 as Bandoh-san wanted to bring the top-class machines in Le Mans.

Besides, the DTM rulebook has some flaws though like the chassis tub which not only designed for front-engined cars, but it's not rigid enough to withstand rigorous racing in longer hours.

I've just read (RCE) that apparently the mother chassis tub is stiffer than its GT500 counterpart. There's nothing official to confirm this, but it would not be surprising at all.

GTE are slower than LMP2, because its weight is 1238kg (1268 for Ferrari and Ford in the next Le Mans) and its poder is only 500Hp.
You could do a GTE with 1100 or 1150 kg and with 600 or 700 hp that would be much closer to LMP2 pace. And then add ballast and low the power to go to Le Mans.

Old mid 2000's GT1's were doing 3:48's in qualifying at Le Mans with 600hp. The tire and aero tech has come a long way since then. I bet if the Ford ran at the same weight of those GT1's it'd equal those times with the power it currently runs. I don't think Super GT goes that route, sadly.

@TF110
Well, Super GT won't forego to the GTE route right now as they stick to DTM rulebook for cost-cutting measures. Then again, I wonder if they made the chassis tub stronger that it'll have less repair costs in the long run?

the most intersting aspect comparing old gt1 performances to current gte is that even if about 100kg heavier and about 50-70hp less powerfull, gte have basically the same top speeds of old gt1 cars in high downforce tracks and a better top speed at le mans.
To me gte cars should have a standard 1200kg weight + ballast accoring to the torque release. Porsche is in the range of <500Nm = 1200kg, Vantage is in the range of >500Nm = 1210kg, Corvette is in the range of >600Nm = 1220kg, Bmw, Ferrari and Ford are close to 700Nm = 1230kg.
Power should be increased to 550hp, but I would drop air restrictors or mandatory pressure, just introduce 90-100kg/h fuel flows. Best manufacturer to tune its engine to be the most efficent wins.

Unfortunately it's in a Honda ...

That's my poor joke done with but in all seriousness, the #16 hasn't had the best of runs this season, even compared to its fellow NSX-GTs. Hopefully he is up to pace quickly and this leads to a bigger commitment next year.

Great news that JB is going to do Suzuka. I think his style will really suit sportscars. Next stop, Le Mans?

It would be better if Jenson Button would join either Team Kunimitsu or Nakajima Racing as he'll have a chance of placing Top 10.

Ok Kunimitsu is competitive, but Nakajima Racing? I hope you got it confused, because there is no way the Epson NSX is going to be competitive unless it rains.

What were the top speeds at Fuji? I don't remember them being much higher than 310 km/h even for the Lexus.

She annotated this sentence as follows.
"本当のことじゃないです (This is not true thing.)"

My goodness. Cannot be tougher than that. 😂
I think last race was very unacceptable for him, running at P5 and then 1 wheel came off from his car.
