Gotta feel sorry for Toyota. Never saw this coming, usually safety car ending results in drama of some sorts...

The SC comes in at the end of this lap.

Between trying to keep FoxSportsGo and the WEC app going today, I feel like a Toyota driver trying to coax it back around for one lap. Usually one or the other works, but right now neither one does.

Took the chance to warm some dinner and grab another beer. Post dinner cigar and rye would be good, but forgot to hit the shops on the way home from the airport. Afraid to sleep and wake up to a shattered run down and an hourly update that takes 45 min each hour.

I don't like Rebellion for quitting LMP1. If an LMP2 car gets on the podium I would prefer any other. |

Of course something stupid can happen, and Lotterer reported steering issues during one of his stints, but they're in control now, and control give you options. This would be like 2011 if the #2 Audi won after both its teammates crashed out and all the Peugeots pulled a 2010. |

A while ago i mentioned that Ferrari have been almost invisible, and just like that they are leading GTE PRO, story of my life.

Well, I go to the liquor store and come back to read posts that this race is over. I guess I can go to sleep tonight early.

They quit LMP1 because they couldn't compete! They had a ByKolles that was usually on fire and the hybrids that were miles in front. They have supported sports car racing for years, if anyone deserves a good result its them.

Apparently not, apparently they deserve to crash.

Podium has been all LMP1s for what I can remember, is that podium just straight top 3? When was the last time the 'top' class did not win overall? |

Hard to define top class but 1995. McLaren. Most of the prototypes broke. Does the 98 result count? GT cars were a bit crazy then? They were very much in contention on speed, similar to LMGTP.

Too complex?
Are these cars just too complex for their own good?
Maybe we should go back to gasoline and carburetors. |

That was from an era when they effectively had two top classes.
