sadly i couldnt make it but I know several of you must have raced there. Julius can normally be relied upon to put on a great meeting? certainly I presume the weather on Sunday must have been similiar to last year!!

Simon, I was there with Les Goble and the Cortina, it was brass monkeys on Sunday morning, got a nats warmer until the wind picked up, and started raining after 59 minutes of the hour race.

a good race I thought, albeit with a delayed start under the safety car, Normans mini died at the start and he got a good whack @ the left rear corner which smashed the subframe and sent his wheel on a run for freedom. . . .from the pit lane it looked like a bit of confusion after as a few cars dropped out the reserves wanted to get in . . . .but couldnt (clerk of the course ruling)

The Mustangs ran away with it really, hardly surprising when your tearing down a runway for half the lap, the Falcon was good to watch, bloody fast in a straight line, then pirouetting round the bends :-) . . . .

as for us, after qualifying 17th (a PB @ Snett, 1:28:68) Les finished 10th and 3rd in class, not bad given the problems encountered with a dickie engine all season.

roll on next spring . . . and its left me even more guilty for not having done any work on my own car!

I hope that the winter will sort all my gremlins out on the new car finally as this season has been one to forget for me! I hope to sell last years car and then I will be ready to start another project! I am starting to think about FIA MGB or a fifties saloon so the Top Hat weekends can be good double headers! Good to hear Les did well, one day I will give up my fascination with Alfa's and admit defeat and get a Lotus Cortina!!!
Snetterton has a habit of bringing the worst weather - I was at Silverstone on Saturday and it was bright but cold and I know a few where going on up to Snet the next day

yep, there where a few who looked like they had 50's saloons on board, JO/NW A35 for one. . . . .we discussed a 100E anglia as a possibility for a 50's saloon . . . .

as we left the weather deteriorated rapidly, the MG's racing must have had fun as it was chucking it down when they started.
