Billy, the ammount of times you've boken nettiquette on here, you should pay us a 40 day grace without your pressence. Likelihood, 0%. Get over it.
Is Mark, V8 Supercar, or Channel 7 to be of real blame here? I say the latter 2 moreso, and Mark somewhat. Finally, why was this only identified 9 days after the "initial" infringement? I dare say as it's being blown up out of proportion. Paul Morris has put more lives at risk with his risky behaviour than an advantage gained here without penalty. Tell me I'm wrong and prove it, and I'll gracefully leave the forum for life. |

The point i was trying to make was, because it was for 'promotional' reasons, it wouldn't have to be at a designated test track......How else would they show a lap of bahrain.......

I understand that - but read the rule in its entirety - not just the bit you want to see. It allows for 'demonstration' runs but then clarifies this by stating at 'test tracks' only.
Like I said - the intent of the rule isn't what is written and, all it will take is one smart arse lawyer to argue this and win. You can't enforce a rule on intent if it is contradictory with itself or other rules. |

So its already obvious this is separate to that. I doubt very much anyone can get a fine etc for something they were contracted to do by the rule makers......good lawyer or no lawyer.
'Hey, go drive that car for a few parade laps' 'but thats illegal' ' do it anyway' Although if anyone was to get a fine for such a thing, it would be Skaife. That term is called 'to be walkinshawed' |

Maybe they won't get fined - but consider a team operator (2 years ago I would have said one that wears glasses and has oil all over his cars) deciding - 'Hey the rules say this - Protest!' and then carrying it through as far as he can.
Maybe they don;t achieve anything physical - but it sure ties a team up with innuendo and worry in case it does go pear shaped. John Lennon said it best with one of his album titles - Mind Games.... |

Given the furore over some apprentices LOOKING at a competitor's car, how do they feel about someone else DRIVING it?
i know i wouldn't want a competitor driving my car. |

Plenty of storm in a teacup in here. I still dont think any rules have been broken. They aren't testing, so it can't be classed as that..... |

A funny one... Mr Skaife drove #15 in Abu Dhabi and broke a tailshaft... Mr Skaife drove #1 in Bahrain.. and according to MeN, #1 had a gearbox that jumped out of 3rd gear...
Too hard on the gear? Or just unlucky |

I always assumed that Gonzo retired because he was getting slow.

I personally did have an issue with Skaife driving other teams cars given his contract with 888. I not able to judge if it was legal or not, but V8Supercars and Ch7 need to remember anything that can look to be wrong shouldn't be done.
The perception that Skaife and 888 could gain an advantage should have seen the idea canned. I have no issues with Crompton or Larkham driving as they are not contracted for the enduros, it would be wise to only let them do the laps from now on. |
