Mike Sheraton should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1988 - what a great year!

hi guys, just looking at the btcc 1998 thread and thought i should make this thread as 1988 was a great year, Rouse vs Soper, Prodrive M3s, for you VIVA GT

but i think 1988- 1990 were some great years, even though it was cossy dominated, it still had this sence of fair driving and great racing that you don't often see.

Rouse is King.

I had a Murray Walker video when I was 6, it had some great action from 1988 all the way up to 1997!

Birmingham was awsome.

1988 was in many ways the 're-birth' of the BTCC after some smallish grids from previous seasons, and was a re-curser to some of the great battles seen in 1989.

Its interesting that although change was required as Group A was orphaned, the BTCC was hardly struggling in 1988 and 1989, all rounds featuring huge fields and full of battles..... if only something could have been done about the points system

I have the video of the 1988 season and it is pretty good. Not quite on par with the very early 90's though.
