COT may be saving grace.

Reports today say Australian car exports have taken a dive. I imagine that holden has been hit hard.......will COT be the saving grace for V8 supercars?

No, it's all fine, the new Camry SLI-C Hybrid will save the day. YAY!!!

(SLI-C = Self Licking Ice-Cream)

Holden stioll does have an OK chance with the Police Fleet vehicles, and if the ute was pitched correctly then there wouldn't be an issue!

I thought it was being pitched pretty accurately at the hoon market. You certainly wouldn't buy one as a work vehicle.

Yeah, they were looking at the "Sports Utility Truck (Light)" for the Ute in the US, rather than a suitable economical replacement for F truck/Silverado/Dodge Ram customers. The timing didn't work for the big wigs and the program was scrapped as introducing a hoon vehicle at that time (GFC) was not seen to be a good idea. Pity hey!

Agreed they are not in the same league, however how many of those "Trucks" get used to their full potential!

Canadian market seem to be a little more full on with 3500 trucks regularly being used as prime movers towing 5th wheelers carrying excavators and other machinery. Pretty remarkable really!

Holden S/SS utes (& Maloos etc) are a winner here with the hoon market though.

The overall picture doesn't look too rosy for the Falcon and commodore though.

Insiders Talk

Nameless, noisy insiders

A Mondeo vs Vectra battle.. V8 engines, RWD... nothing like the road going version.

Is this good?

......or maybe a return to a more varied category like Group A.......does it really matter if the cars are not manufactured in Oz? I liked the Sierra Cosworths and Mustangs.

?

Even KIA is probably too upmarket to be keen on racing some pretend spaceframe, so presumably the various new Chinese imports will be the best source of potential entrants?
