Ben Edwards out of work - ITV bound?
As Sky's service is no longer running, what will Ben Edwards now do?

Does James Allen have a contract for this year, is he contracted to just work for ITV, or is he actually contracted to be a commentator?

For example, could he just go back to his old job in the pits and let Edwards pick up the mike?

i wish he would !...James did a great job as pit lane reporter....Ben is just great , but i wonder if he will do the live commentry for TOCA on Motors TV ?

I'm going to do my nut having to listen to Allens ramblings for the whole year. I hope and pray that Edwards has got the gig but somehow think that its unlikely. I think Edwards' style is a little too high brow for the sort of audience ITV are aiming for.

Ben is far from being out of work. He's almost certain to continue doing at least ITV's BTCC coverage, maybe evening linking that to the live feed; he'll probably do some other Sky Sports work as in the past; I've known him on Channel 5; I've even heard him on the trackside PA.
We'll see him somewhere nextyear, for sure.

I hope they replace Allen with Edwards. He's almost Murray-like in his enthusiasm and would make boring races interesting once again. That's probably what didn't help the coverage last year, the fact Allen was just so dull.

Absoultely, I hope he at least gets the Motors TV BTCC job to go with the ITV one, but I'm pretty sure that most people would rather hear his commentaries. Otherwise he could go back to doing CART (ChampCars), and maybe now IRL (IndyCars), for MotorsTV

James Allen is utterly intolerable..

Ben is one (if not the) best commentator I have heard. And, IMHO, James is not.

Ben and Martin would make an ideal combination.
