Christian Jones the Pakistani
I am rather amazed to read this comment from David Sears, the Pakistan team manager. Since when is Christian Jones a Pakistani?
Surely this would not be allowed, it would make A1 look rediculous. Please don't do this! "Providing Adam feels OK tomorrow morning," said Sears, "then of course we'd want Adam to race. If not, then we have been given permission to use A1 Team Australia's second driver Christian Jones as a possible replacement." |

Well, Adam Khan isn't Pakistani either, but we've had this discussion before.
I'm not quite sure what the basis is that Jones could be used as a replacement - possibly it is significant that Sears said this rather than an official. I would have expected A1GP to have quoted someone from the formula in the report that appears on their website. |

what so they go all that way, do all that work and dont get the race, i'd be happy for christian to drive for pak, he'd get some more race experiance and maybe that'll improve him for australia.
atleast if that happens will davo will get a full two races in. |

Pakistan would see whatever chance they had of points from this meeting go out the window if they allowed Jones to drive for them.
If Khan isn't fit, then leave the car in the garage. At least that way it won't get damaged. |

To add to the sentiment, why want Jones driving? Unlike his Dad, he is hopeless!

The whole premise of the A1GP concept is that the drivers dont matter, only the team branding, and source of the cars.
Arguably you should be able to put any driver in any car, as long as its the Team Australia car or Team Pakistan car if Schumacher and Alonso were in them, who would care, because its all about the country, not the nut behind the wheel And I agree... Mr Jones would be slower than Adam Khan |

Kahn is being replaced by Toccacello, so Pakistan might have more of a chance now!

Yeah, or ToccacelI as that Sky Sports presenter has called him from day 1
I hope Pakistan won't be eligible for points this time, because I still think this makes a mockery of A1GP being a "World Cup". |

I thought I heard on the commentary that Team Pakistan had to forgo points for this round and ran the car purely so that fans had something to watch.

Thank you A1GP and Enrico.
Considering Pakistan's absence of a reserve driver at the moment, this was a nice gesture for the Pakistan fans from the A1GP management to allow this.
I think it shows the spirit of the championship...people are willing to lend a hand. After the India/Indonesia incident, the drivers had a few words to say to each other but I think it was kept in control......would it have been the same in F1? Also.....i'm sure that was a mexican nose on Jos Verstappens car ! wasn't it? Get well soon Adam ! |

if the fans (be it Pakistani fans..) is why they can run like that, why not offer the seat to bin Laden....now, that would generate interest.....imagine the kerfuffle if the scrutineers picked up an infringement!
Kerboom! |
