2012 Fantasy F1 Results - Malaysia

The Malaysia Round up

First the Relevant Facts and figures that determine the points…

All 24 cars qualified within the 107% time

There were 2 Grid drop penalties to be applied…
Raikkonen dropped 5 places from 5th to 10th on the grid for changing his gearbox after less than 5 races. As he remained within the Q3 group he retains his 2 qualifying bonus points.
Kovalainen dropped 5 places from 19th to 24th on the grid after being penalised by the stewards at the previous race for overtaking under safety car conditions. As he failed to qualify for Q2 on time, there was no bonus point awarded.

Qualifying bonuses for Constructor having both cars in Q3 go to Red Bull, McLaren, Lotus and Mercedes, with the Engine supplier bonuses going to Mercedes, Ferrari and Renault for each powering 2 different constructors into Q3.

There were 3 leaders of the race Hamilton, Perez and Alonso, each receive 1 bonus point, Alonso leading the most laps resulting in additional bonus points to him and Ferrari for both Constructor and Engine supplier.
Fastest lap went to Raikkonen taking the bonus points for himself, Lotus and engine supplier Renault.

The top 2 engines from each supplier, powering different constructors are colour coded for easy reference.

Of those who were classified non finishers, Kobayashi was the only one judged to have suffered a technical DNF (Brakes), with the result that Sauber has a -5 points penalty for that car.
Although Maldonado was classified as a finisher, he did suffer an engine failure and for this reason Renault have a -10 points penalty applied to their score.

Onto the results…

Top Scorer for the Malaysia round was Bad Boy Racing with 73 points, with TMSV Grand Prix in second spot with 66 points for the second race running.

Overall Scores sees TMSV Grand Prix’s consistency pay off as they top the table with 132 points, second Team AWB on 119 points, with Bad Boy Racing on 114 points.

Full results and points breakdowns can be seen below.

MikeManNZ should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
A nice reliable 41 points in each race so far.

courageous should be qualifying in the top 5 on the gridcourageous should be qualifying in the top 5 on the grid
So my strategy was Button would qualify semi-poor but bring it to the front in tricky conditions while Grosjean would qualify really bad but bring it home, the Force India guys would spur each other on to challenge the podium while Mercedes engines would dominate.

Yeah, I don't think I'll bother with the lottery this week
