Mini 7, Miglia & 1275 RESULTS

Hi there all,

I have been compiling an archive of Mini 7, Mini Miglia and 1275 GT racing since its inception in 1966, and have a very large amount of info so far. However, I am still looking for info to fill in missing gaps and was wondering if anyone on this thread may have old result/qualifying sheets/program entries from the late-60s and early-70s where Mini 7 (sometimes called Mini 850) or Mini Miglia (sometimes 'Mille' or Mini 1000) ran on the same bill, or more specifically, in the same races as Special Saloons or Free Formula Saloons. The first season of Formula Mini-7 was in 1966, and was dominated by Bob Fox.

The 1966 dates are mostly 750 MC meetings: Silverstone 17 May, Combe 4 June, Lydden 12 June, Snetterton 3 July, Silverstone 16 July, plus Brands 17 July and Snetterton 12 June (Mini 7 Club meets).

1967 dates: Brands 8 Jan, Brands 12 Feb, Brands 2 Apr, Snett 9 Apr, Silv 6 May, Brands 21 May, Brands 28 May, Brands 12 June, Combe 24 June, Snett 16 July, Silv 5 Aug, Snett 20 Aug, Mallory 10 Sept, Lydden 5 Nov, Brands 10 Dec.

I have other dates for 1968 and 1969 (when a few Miglia runners first appeared), 1970 (first full season of Miglias), and so on, but will post this first lot off dates for now to see what, if any, response I may get.

Thanks again fo allowing me onto this forum, and I await any replies with interest.

Regards

RW

We had some combined Mini 7 and 1275GT races around 1977 (the 1275GTs often had small grids alone)

I have some random M7 and Graham Hill Memorial sheets from 79/80. If they are any use to you I can copy them.

Mini 7

Hi, just thought i would reply my Dad raced mini 7 & 850 free formula from 67 for about 5 years . i have some pictures of the early days about 69/70 the car was in DJ bond racing colours .His first race was lydden hill .His only win was about 69 on the ultra short brands circuit which cut up across the pit access road from bottom straight .Dj Bond got quite involved in sponsorship with mini 7 ,850 free formula, modsports & an anglia in the BTCC for Leana Ingemen & Keith St John. Then sponsored Terry Harmer 1000 special saloon,1300 & 1275 Gt .My Dads car has just come to light after years in a barn somewhere having last raced in the late 70's i think by Geog Poulter.

Car number 157 (Maurice Watts) from that '68 meeting can be found here, as Kevin says, it was later sold to Geoff Poulter:
