RWC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ferrari designer?

Rory Byrne has been the main designer at ferrari for some time (together with Ross Brawn) but recently i read that the soon to be raced '05 model isn't rory's.
Now i can't find the news/article that mentioned it,does anyone remember hearding anything about this?
I know RB isn't due to retire until at least '07 (?), is he perhaps transfering responsibility to the new guy abit quicker than expected?

It is a gradual change of power. Ferrari is planning for the future, and they want to carry on the stability of the team when the likes of Rory and Ross retires. Hence, they decided to attempt to nurture talent in house rather than hire the next star designer off another team.

Aldo has been working some time under the guidance of Rory in the previous cars. This year, he is given more responsibility while Rory takes a slight back seat and play more of a consultancy role to Aldo.

It certainly does, and similar transition processes are on-going in other departments too.

Ferrari are too sensible to not comprehensively plan for the inevtiable.

Yes indeed. Hence i am very upset when not too long ago, some people on various forums suggest how Ross/Rory/Todt are planning to let Ferrari collapse and fail in F1 after their retirement. It shows the ignorance of critics.

On another note, i've been impressed that Ferrari is planning the succession of power from within, where they nurture the next Rory and Ross instead of aiming to just poaching a star chief designer from another team. It is almost as if they are trying to bring Ferrari back to the roots.

Well, if you have the means, and the situation, to have hte comfort of being able to longterm train the best inyour team for the future it makes total sense. They are immersed in teh team, how it works, the philosophies, the dedication, the processes and with all the workers.

It makes a lot of sense.
