Wales Rally GB - Help and Car sharing from Cardiff

Hello all,

I've been out of marshalling for a few months now due to university down here in Cardiff but thought i couldn't pass up on the oppurtunity of marshalling the Wales Rally GB. Unfortunatly, my experience only covers hillclimbing and circuits, so rallying is new to me. I've got the little red book from the RAC on marshalling which will be my new bible for the next few weeks but i'm interested in seeing what some of you experienced rally marshals can recommend i pay particular attention to.

Also, if anyone is interested in car sharing from Cardiff to the Friday - SS 1 & 4 Port Talbot stage, Saturday - SS 8 & 11 Epynt stage and SS 15 & 17 Trawscoed stage, then please get in contact with me. I only have a punto so i can reasonably fit 3 equipped marshals. If your interested, then give me a ring on the number below!!

Why have you been out of action, when Pembrey and Combe are so close?

Not sure about Rally stages, but I'll be on the service park doing parc ferme (as far as I know anyway)

i know pembrey and combe are close, but its hard finding the time inbetween the cheap booze and odd bit of work at university!!

Which uni are you in? I'm in University of Glamorgan about 10 miles north of Cardiff...

if you get the chance, be sure to go down and see the start ceremony on the Thursday evening.

Normally at the stadium - the atmosphere is great, the view not so, but there's normally an autograph session before it starts.

Watch out for Petter and his incredible out of the car antics!

Just one point though, I still haven't had any confirmation notification about the rally. Last I spoke to Ernie he said he'd sent them off.

I note that marshals get free entry to the Millenium Stadium! nice. oh and there's now an official marshals forum too.

i heard from ernie on mon 20th.the plan is to meet with marshals on the day and give passes out,that way he doesn`t have to worry bout losing any in the post

Hi all,
haven't bene on for a while but just wondering about the Wales Rally. I am from cardiff originally and would give anything to help out. Again though i only have Hill Climbing experince with marshalling, although I have done first aid at wales rally GB before. If anyone can give me contact details that would be brilliant.

Stig,
Ernie was contacting people next weet,possible on tue/wed with details,he phoned me the other day to double check i was going.
if you got his number,i would give him a ring to make sure you are down.
if there is anythink i can do futher to help,juz give us a tinkle...
Also i`m down at swansea service area for the 4 days.if any one needs a lift,get in touch.
Ps.....i`m a new boy on here in my 1st season of marshalling,so be nice,but no need to be gentle.....

I used to be indecisive, but I'm not so sure about that.

looking futher ahead,will you be doing training at thruxton next year or are you sticking to pembrey.
its just that i`m going to be doing both,so if you were thinking of doing thruxton you could grab a lift with me.
so keep it in mind
