Given how promising he seemed he has been a disappointment. The car hasn't been fantastic either but it is the great driver who can drag a result out of a car that isn't great.

More likely a case of use it or lose it. PRA may have deliberately sat on it until as late as possible to maximise the amount of trick bits to evaluate, unless there is some sort of restriction on car development at rookie days.

That article wasn't up when I shotted it.

Wonder why they aren't testing with the other car? There could have been a roster of pilots all contributing to the budget & getting laps... an income stream possibility lost perhaps...

I wish you people would learn that a silly season thread is what is happening before the season starts and not a fortnight after the last race has been run, all silly season threads should be closed when the first race starts as that is when the silly season ends, if something happens after that it is a new topic and not in the silly season

Nonsense.

Several contracts were exchanged as early as mid year. Be it drivers, sponsors, and manufacturer support.

Even during the season, nobody sits on their hands trying to keep teams and careers alive.

Its a weird one, I agree that silly season would normally about the lead up to the season. But typically in recent years the thread has morphed into an all encompassing thread about a whole lot of things related to the that season that dont really belong individual event threads, Probably needs a name change once the season starts.

Its good to have all the similar things together though as it makes it easier to search and reduces the amount of short threads in the forum

There will always be a crossover of what gets posted this year about next year, etc, plus there will be posts in both threads about the same thing.

It doesn't really matter at the end of the day.

I've researched thoroughly and I can't see anything which gives the official start and end dates for the silly season.

In fact by definition, if there was anything official, the silly season would have to be outside that as it would be the season.

Nor do I really care that much, so as you were.

Not a good start to the '17 season for Mr Whincup.

Also, just getting in before everyone else, I suggest that this is not the sort of thing where we all speculate and spit-ball ideas as to what went wrong.

Being the private people that they are, I don't think we'll ever hear any details that we don't actually need to know, for a long time if at all, anyway.
