Egger Lawson in Nottingham?
I thought you were employing mechanics though, sounds more like trade usage? |

I thought Egger Lawson are more for race cover rather than vehicle usage insurance?
Gone back to running privately, but sponsored, thus not being company use. Last edited by ActiveMS; 29 Jan 2004 at 10:26. |

Thanks tried EL but they came in at over 700 (with no points and full no claims) with restricted mileage. I may try specialists in horse boxes as I know they are cheap to insure. Anyone tried the NFU before?

If I had a Jedi I'd put it in a three and a half tonner. Either a Luton or even a Transit etc.
I'm sure it would fit?? |

Lutons & transits are too small... tried that one.
At just over 11ft in length, a standard luton is just a smidgen too tight, when you include 2/3 sets of wheels, tools, jacks etc. I also want something to camp in to save B&B costs. I know people that use Merc Sprinters etc, but Im want something I can resell later as a standard van without many mofifications otherwise Im stuck with a 'race transporter' which limits resale value and buyers. Looks like Ive found a couple of possible policies, but I guess insurance for anything is fairly high these days. Will hopefully be at some of the BARC single seater events this year.....will you be there JM as you FFords need some competition Last edited by ActiveMS; 29 Jan 2004 at 11:58. |

Probably do the odd one or two but will concentrate on FF1600. Mind you, you never what'll come up cheap when the season has started, do you?
In my experience, trucks are cheap to buy and more costly to run. Vans cost more to buy but are much cheaper to run. Imagine your Cargo breaking down at 8pm on a Sunday night on the way back from Oulton... A van is more akin to a car, just bigger. And simpler MOTs too. The longest Luton I've ever seen was 20ft. There are loads out there at 13ft 6in +. Last edited by JohnMiller; 29 Jan 2004 at 12:37. |
