2016 V8 Warpaint

Having a look at the field of V8's over the weekend, I reckon this year the best lookimg cars are Rick Kelly's Sengled Nissan and then the Dale Wood and Micheal Caruso Nissans.

The DJR/ Penske paint scheme didn't do anything for me at Symmons, but there Shell livery at Clipsal looked a million dollars

The Sengled car looks almost exactly like the Vodafone 888 livery, and the other Nissans are pretty meh IMO.

I reckon the Caltex livery looks really good, and the Preston Hire car stands out.

Freightliner car is one of the best looking on the grid.

PRA's cars have improved but still have shocking colour conflicts & placement.

The DJRTP cars are nothing special, the Shell ones looked amazing though.

i actually do really like both the Erebus liveries.

The Caltex livery is almost the same as Mr Ingall's 2003/4/5/6 livery family... Mr Ingall made mention of it in the pre-season, wondering if he & Mr Stone shouldn't get a commission for designing their car

The Preston Hire Commodore looks very much like the last Norton DJR Falcon Mr Moffat drove..

Novocastrian changed the livery on the #4 this weekend, there is less Penrite signage, and more of new supporters.. logos moved around a little too... looked great in the original Clipsal guise..

Rusty might have said it but that doesn't make it true...

Facts to consider are that sponsor has lots of style guide to protect and colours stay the same, but other than those things these are not that much alike:

Probably the closest:

The Caltex car looks brilliant. Freightliner looks very plain. BOC looks awesome though. (Biased to BJR though)

Agree, it is only because the Caltex and Vortex colours and logos remain the same that gives similarity, the placement and ancillary striping is completely different. Like when JPS appeared on multiple cars over the years, because the colours and logo remained the same, they all looked very similar to the Frank Gardner BMWs. http://blog.iso50.com/29124/liveries...layer-special/

The Caltex Star placement at the front of the door can be traced back to Colin Bond's Sierra:
