In answer to Tim's questions, i don't think anyone has yet got that "Little Leaf" is Stefan Johansson (should really be Little Leif) but I'm stumped on "Chunky", though I feel I know it.
And the modern nickname I really liked on here was Marzipan, just cracked me up - I think Minardi Fan was the originator. Last edited by Marshal; 8 May 2001 at 15:55. |

The reason I chose the spelling "Leaf" for Stefan Johansson is that I think he actually enjoyed the play on words and incorporated a leaf in the design on his helmet.
Vieux Renard - I would have given that to Piero Taruffi, although perhaps he was Le Renard Argent? Regenmeister for me is Rudolf Caracciola, but then again perhaps that's "Der Karatsch". Peschvogel. I know this... ...I know this.... ....err.... ....blast! |

What you all forgot is the italian nickname for Jean Alesi which I made my own nick in here: Jeanburrasca. Jean is clear, burrasca means stormwind in italian.

One miss, Wolf. 'Ciccio' is not Ascari. R is right about the French Professor, but 'Jeannot' is not the same as 'Jeanburrasca', which is a great nick btw, I didn't know that. Another bonus-entry. Other than Senninha, which I don't think was Ayrton's nickname, was a nick name ever given to him by anyone ?
As much as I admired his talent, I just can't seem to recall him being called anything else other than Ayrton or Senna, and not counting the names he may have been called by other drivers that he beat under their helmets ? |
