Why are there not many sponsors on the Panoz car?
In 1998 and 1999, Ford was putting in some money for the Panoz project and with Visteon, the cars were not void of coperate sponsorship. Now their just red with silver rool hoops, every now and again with some small sponsorship but many times just advertising a driving school or nothing at all.
Can Don not get anything or does he chose to not put anything on the car? |

Interesting, H16, I've wondered that too. Bearing in mind that Don has been plugging away since 1997 and still hasn't even come close to winning the big one, perhaps, even with all his dough, he needs a serious cash injection?

I think Don Panoz is just sponsoring the car himself. Since he went to his own engines (Elan Motorsport built by Zytek Motorsport) the tie in with Ford and Visteon has ended. The RoadAtlanta school is his as well as the track so he will advertise the Petit LeMans on his cars and the driving schools, but I think he just bankrolls it himself.

Unlike Roger Penske's alleged dilemma, perhaps Dr. Panoz does not wish to be forced to trash his team, the careers of his drivers, and his good name at the whim of a sponsor with a big stick.

The reason the Panoz is red, is that Don Panoz wanted Panoz to be the 'American Ferrari'.
Quite simple really. |
