Exactly this. Genuinely don't care who it is and I'd support whoever makes the leap wholeheartedly.

Indeed. I think he said WEC right after Super GT and meant this season, then Le Mans, 2014 and G56.

edit: then again could simply mean the LMP2 engines...

Agreed. Nissan has used up their patience budget for this kind of stuff imo, at one point you actually have to go racing.

Cox said Nissan is currently evaluating an undisclosed type of propulsion technology with the ACO and FIA and the feasibly of it fitting within the new-for-2014 LMP1 regulations, which sees a switch towards energy allocation and efficiency.

No specific timeframe for Nissan’s planned LMP1 effort has been announced.

Well Darren Cox is stating that this is an exercise to evaluate using this technology working in a real LMP1... they want to go racing with this... in future... sometime. Pure electric cars at LM... hmm, full sized slot cars. If it doesn't work, they'll try something else. Don't want to go racing with a standard engine.
