That's right, we used to call him "Sandro" back in his Lotus days... - I've forgotten about it, got so used to the Indycar "Alex"

Fantastic achievement by my man Alex!!! I knew he'd get there one day soon.

I've been waiting for this day since Surfers Paradise 1998 - his first donuts since then!

Perhaps fitting that he broke his duck in Germany ......

Huge achievement by the team as well, considering the repair job they had after the round at Spa.

But remember who crashed the car at Puebla. De Micheli wasn´t at Spa because of that, however he is driving now Colciago´s car. Do you think if Colciago has budget he wouldn´t run?

It's a matter of money, but not in these terms. Colciago is not paying, JAS pays for him, because they wanted a good driver to show Honda what the car can do.
When De Micheli smashed the car in Puebla it was really bad damaged, and JAS now hasn't the money to repair it. De Micheli is the paying driver, so he must be driving. Hope they found an agreement to let Roberto be part of the pack in at least one of the next three meetings...

Actually there's only Schumacher and DTM. Just a coincidence that Schummel is driving F1 Oschersleben wasn't as crowded as last years race. Probably less than 20000.

I had heard during this year that Colciago hadn´t budget for all season and surely he couldn´t finish it. At least that JAS effort is on a good way to get official support?

Just watched the replay this afternoon on Eurosport. What a couple of races, and what a drive from Zanardi to take the win!

I've just watched that again. What a ridiculous way to end the programme - questioning whether Zanardi would kep the win! and no results round up!

The last lap of the second race was very exciting.

Indeed. He may comment on this himself, as he is a member here, but that's Martin Haven's style.. I wish he wasn't as obsessed with Augusto Farfus though. He'll get banned through his own actions Martin, not your words!

Both races were what I expect, and what a classic Touring Car finish to a race for it all to go right /wrong (depends who's side you're on) for drivers.

Say what?

From Speedtv.com:

"Alex Zanardi took an emotional victory at Race 2 of this weekend’s Oschersleben doubleheader of the World Touring Car Championship, conquering his first international win in seven years.

Zanardi, who steers a specially adapted BMW 320i with hand controls, hadn’t won an international event since the 1998 Champ Car season. "

First - I am extremely pleased that Alex has fought his way back from a horrible accident and won the race. However, I think the SpeedTV writers were confused. Don't we all use "hand controls" to steer our cars? Certainly it must be hand controls for the pedals to which they were referring.
