And a bit more metal, 8 pop rivets, some polish and a welder later it was back on! It doesn't look too worse for it's experience which is surprising at the speed it came off. The glass fibre had given way around the mounts at the back and lifted.

The whole car is looking rough now close up, though it looks nice enough going round and I will have to get it fettled one day but I'm always worried that I'll bump it within one lap if it gets shiny!

Oddly enough, there was a Healey went past me in the race with the hardtop lifting off, must have been the weekend for it.

Derwent Motorsp should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It was a great weekend, well organised as usual and plenty of time to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
My car (and me?) were four seconds quicker tha last year and going well. Just one race this year for the Equipe GTS lot as some had been at Le Mans last weekend. I was having a good race until an idiot in an Elva rammed me in the back in the complex. We have a very strict no contact rule so he's got a yellow card for it, but sadly I won't be out again this season due to the cost of repairs.

Does anyone know anything about the Freddie Owen E type Special in the Coys race. Odd looking car which has been hidden for 35 (?) years.

I've not been keeping up with this thread but as one of the 40+ i'm interested in any comments on the "premier" race......

Glad to see so many enjoyed themselves.

Just to say, that over the whole w/end, this race proved to be one of the closest, with battles all the way down the field. Plus, without exception, all the drivers showed their appreciation of us guys in orange. Well done!
