Paul Rayner should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Brands Hatch Formula Renault test predictions

On Friday, you've guessed it, there's another official Formula Renault test, this time on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch. There's only three more tests left including this, and three more races to go, so not many more chances to predict a result this season!

Usual prediction rules apply - predict the top five and you'll get 2 points for every driver in the right place and 1 for every driver in the wrong place. Bonus point if you predict the fastest time to within a tenth of a second, and the non-scoring tie-break is how many will be within a second.

I'll start with:
1) Watts
2) Green
3) Long
4) Davison
5) Lloyd

22 within a second
Fastest time: 44.927s

Mr Budden: may I ask if the Fantasy Formula Renault driver line-up change option is now open once more or will this be after the Brands meeting in preparation for what is set to be a thrilling Donington finale climax?

Very formal Mr Apex! The driver line-up change option will be open after Brands up until the Wednesday before Donington so those in the top ten have a last minute chance to knock Paul Rayner off the top spot!

Oi, Budden, that's Mr Rayner to you... Speaking of which, is there a prize for winning overall? A lifetime supply of Stella, perhaps...

Sorry - Mr Rayner - SIR! - There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the Fantasy Formula Renault Championship overall - and yes there is alcohol involved - but not all Stella!! - precise details of prizes will be revealed after Brands Hatch as there are still some last minute negotiations going on at the moment....

Probably a good time to mention that Fantasy Formula Renault will be back for the Winter Series as well - though rumours of prizes of Bovril to keep out the cold are pure speculation!!

Now that's going to be complicated, with the new Festival system. If you get the most points in the first round, at Donington, do you get presented with a Thermos of tea at the next race?

Haven't worked out exactly how the points will work for the Winter series yet - need to put my thinking cap on...

What? Digest my by hobnob?

How about instead of a life's supply of Stella a life's supply of Bella? Or both. Which would be nice.

P.Rayner: Q: is littleman allowed to go for 23 within a second as I opted for it first?

I actually think you should also pick a position outside the top five at random and ask, for a bonus point, who will end the test in that position. If it's 12th, then I'll go for SS.

Yes, they're allowed to, it being a free country and all, but if you are both tied on points you'll win because you said it first. If littleman's tied with someone else though, and there's 23 within a second, it could work out as an advantage.

Maybe for the Winter Festival, but not for the normal season. Anyway, which SS do you mean, Susie or Stefan?

At the end of another test prediction, it was littleman that came out on top, with 5 points. kbudden and pb btcc were in equal second with 4 each, while the rest of us were tied on 3. Nobody was close enough to the fastest time to gain a bonus point, but I correctly said that 22 drivers would be within a second.

The top five times were:
1) Lewis Hamilton 44.528s
2) Jamie Green + 0.034s
3) Danny Watts + 0.133s
4) Mark McLoughlin + 0.301s
5) Robert Bell +0.313s

Other information: Viso, who can be just about anywhere on the time sheets, had one of his good days to end up seventh, While Susie Stoddart finished two places higher than the 12th place Mr Apex predicted. Newcomer Fabian Coulthard ended the day in 24th.

Scores:
littleman 5
kbudden/pb btcc 4
Paul Rayner/Jonny Apex/bella/MrTTRaces 3
