Who is Stephan de Groot?
I keep seeing his name every where (F3, F.Renault, F3000, touring, GT). Who is this guy? He must have been around for at least 10 years. How old is he?

He's driven Formula Ford in Holland for the past 2 years and races in the German F3 championship this year, he's now 22 years old. He also drives in the Dutch Supercar challenge(GT) sometimes. |

It is different driver with an almost identical name, Stefan de Groodt, who competed briefly in International F3000:

Got a funny story...after his just finished his last FF season last year he had a F3 test. Around lunchtime halfway around the lap a Viper spins in front of him. He hits it and gets launched of the circuit and collides with a tree mid-air...no insurance. Wonder what went through his mind at that point? =)

Matt Neal and Paul O'Neill in BTCC must be confusing enough, not to mention Jorg and Dirk Muller in ETCC

Stefan had Marlboro sponsorship at the F3 Masters at Zandvoort. He was on provisional pole in first qualifying... the weekend went downhill from there!
He came over to do Oulton as a last minute thing. Probably as a return favour for Rob Austin driving for JB at Zandvoort or probably because Mr Brusatin hasn't come back yet. Whatever, he's a top bloke. |
