F3 Championship hots up
After race One (1 - Kovalainen, 2 - Carbone, 3 - Taylor - full results on www.british-f3.com) it leaves Courtney just 3 points behind Kerr with Jouanny starting to catch up too.
Race Two has Kerr starting in sixth place with Courtney on the front row. There's not many points left to be had now the season is drawing to a close - should be an interesting fight to the last race! |

How is Jouanny starting to catah up?
He is losing ground, rather than catching up. |

I feel sorry for Taylor - he'd changed to wets which was starting to pay off when they red flagged the race. He was in the lead but they gave the victory to Kovalinen who had lead the lap before. How annoying must that be!

hakiman - I felt sorry for him so gave him a few extra points!!!
3 sites have him down as having 59 points and 2 sites have him down as having 38!!! The races at Oulton have all been delayed because of the rain - they're gonna have 2 F3 races to reschedule if the second race gets postponed! |

Hosokawa has 38 points.
0,0,2,11,0,0,1,4,20 = 38 Its strange that one part of Britain is having rain and here its warm and dry. Last edited by Speedworx; 18 Aug 2002 at 17:43. |

btw I just posted under 'Marshalls' too - everyone ok after the GT pile-up? It looked very very bad from our position near Cascades... we feared the worst at first, but I believe the only injuries were cuts and bruises? Hope so - best wishes to those involved Last edited by garcon; 18 Aug 2002 at 23:03. |

Dahlgren can appeal all he likes, the fact is the car was illegal, the airbox had fallen off.
Clivio took great pleasure in collecting his first place trophy from the sweeny racing awning after the race. |

Hi,
Can anybody tell me what happened to Karun Chandhok. From autosport it looks like he spun in race1 but what about his 2nd race? |

not sure where he finished, if he did. The car was in one piece as I walked past the awning on my way out of the circuit, his mechanics did a very good job to get the car ready after ther first race.

Garcon! It depends on which part of Cascades you were on because the F3 car was between Clay Hill and Water Tower and if you had looked that way you may have seen the waved yellow at Clay Hill. Once the offending piece of bodywork had been removed the driver was able to drive back to the Pits and he was out in the second race although he didn't complete that race either.

Did anyone else see Carroll's car after the race 2 smash? He did a proper job on it, the tub has a big hole down the side! It cracked open all the way down the left, so you can actually see through it. Apart from a bit of a knocked elbow though, he's fine.

apparently, mackmot overheard a scrutineer telling the team not to celebrate too much because there wasn't an airbox on the car...
at least they got the remains of a bottle of champagne out of it. which reminds me, mackmot, boy, what did you do with that champagne...? |
