Robbie Kerr's Porsche Cup acheivements
Just heard that Robbie Kerr got two poles, two wins, two fastest laps and two lap records on his first ever weekend in a Porsche Cup car. What do you think of that? How good do you think Robbie really is?!?

Robbie is a Brands Hatch specialist. Stick him in anything and he'll win there. There is a technique to driving that circuit - I don't know what it is, nor where it is exactly (except it's in the first half not the second half) ... I wish we could find out what it is!! Did you see Robbie pull away from the rest of the F3 pack like they were Formula Renaults when they were last there?
There will be something not obvious in going fast at Brands. A tecdhnique to driving one of the 3 first corners that seems wrong, feels wrong (otherwise all the "natural" drivers would do it) ... but the clock will tell you it's right!! Hamilton learned/found it in Formula Renault this weekend. Last time there he was slow. This time he was untouchable. Watts knows it (but Green doesn't). Green is a quicker driver than Watts, but is nearly 2/10ths off Watts here. And I sat and watched, and I couldn't see it, but the clock puts Hamilton then Watts miles ahead of everyone else. And when Lloyd tried to follow Hamilton round Paddock in Friday testing, he explained that he would need approximately 14 metres more road to go round at that speed. So he didn't! But back to the thread, Robbie is untouchable at Brands in anything at all, and the boy done good! |

Watts has out qualified Green 8 to 3 and won five races so why is Green quicker?

He may of been helped by 1 place in the 2nd race by Coles problem , but withoput that he would have still finished 1st in race 1 and 2nd in race 2 . Around Clearways he was amazing nearly every lap .
Very impressive stuff ! |

But where does Robbie go if he wins the F3 title?
F3000 is too expensive for such a perenially underfinanced driver. Formula Super Renault & Dallara Nissan could be roads to nowhere? Might he be better off persuing the Porsche SuperCup, or GT racing in teh states? |

Possibly ???.....but being seen to able to cope in such a strong way with a new series , must be the best way of standing out from many other good drivers as a possible driver for companys to get involved with .

Porsche Cup is the ultimate "more money than talent" series, so it is little wonder that practically every "guest" driver this year has taken pole or won, or taken fastest lap. |
