A1gp...night race?

i heard that round 5 of A1gp at sepang was gunna be a night race. can anyone tell me if thats true or not?

and if it is true,are the cars gunna have lights in the nosecone or something?

also...there have been so many crashes in broad daylight so far in A1gp, can you imagine it at night!!!!!!!

Single seater night races are generally run under flood-lights and as far as I know have never run with guns attached to them

The conclusion to that discussion is that at the minute no night races are planned in A1GP. However, it was discussed, and certainly would be run under a completely floodlit circuit if they are planned at any point in the future.

mmm that would be interesting to see. cause for example, it could be a bit difficult to effect the pit stop

It was mainly thought up so the race could be shown live at a more favourable time in Europe and partly because it is far more comfortable at that time of day for everyone concerned.

F1 toyed with the idea but dropped it due to the high cost of flood lighting an entire GP track.

It was also muted to be happening in Dubai because 'our' weekends are not weekends there, so it would have meant local spectators being able to attend the race. To my knowledge though the Dubai race is now being run in daylight hours.
