Ric Shaw is building a Mazda RX8 GT for the AMC & plans to enter it in the Bathurst 12 hour next year.

Also noticed than Peter Conroy has his Mitsubishi Evo X RS for sale, that's a shame.

I know of at least 2 cars that are being built as we speak for the AEC (4 rounds of 6 Hour races)

Looks like the AEC has been cancelled due to the lack of entries (is what I am hearing)

I wonder what it could be.

Do you know whether there are cars being built or other teams interested in running the enduro's?

There's the 2 other GWS BMW 130is which will run. I believe they will be from the PI Enduro onwards. Possibly someone might run one of the old Celicas (Kean Booker maybe). There's another RenaultSport Clio which Ian and Aaron Thorpe ran at the 8 Hour last year, plus the Paul Nelson Yaris, Maybe Bob Pearson's EVOs could come out and play too. I don't think Steve Briffa is going to be running this year though.

Last I heard Jim Hunters team was looking at State rounds and nsw rounds of the AMC.

Good to see Holty calm down and be back in a production car.

I gotta say that the series management have done a hell of a job to get 20 cars to what is a state-level race meeting for two, 20-lap races.

It's not a bad field either. Great to see Class D, in particular, so strong what with the LGM Corolla, the Fiesta, Mini et al. Sensible decision to more the Astra to Class C to take on the Mazda's (finally some opposition for Camilleri!) and (when they return) the GWS BMW 130s - adds some spice to that class.

At the front it looks like Kostera is probably going to drive away from the field but the competition will build. I'm sure TMR are working on more EVO's, Rick Shaw's RX-8 Should be potent and I believe the Wilson Bros are planning on returning the STi to competition at the six hour. And there looks to be more of the ex-MINI Challenge cars coming on stream.

Let's just hope that from now on the Production Car Guys & Girls can put their fractured past behind them and work together to build the series into something strong. Certainly a positive start.

If the iRace and these guys got together we would have huge grids. I agree with you about the HSV Astra as it was pushing the MPS's all last year and the Osborne Team MPS's look like they have sorted some issues out....it annoys me that in the 2010 12hr there was heaps of cars but in the championship they never enter....bring on some of the diesels and the Commodore wagon...I love the showroom class but sadly it will take alot for this catergory to reach regonition....more factory support and publicity would help.

Is Mr Kostera's Evo still in the colours of West Surf Products? That company was placed in administration recently (advertised for sale in Friday's Fin Review), has you wondering if the motorsport thing helped or hindered that organisation
