Peter Harding should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
750MC - Donington - 14/15 May

Warning - this meeting is heavily oversubscribed with entries. Many more than expected.
This means that extra heats have been included. To balance this, other, smaller grid races, have been combined.
We can expect 20 sessions (practice/Race) each day with, generally, full grids (and some reserves).
A lunch break of an hour each day is planned but we will need to move things very fast to get through it all. I believe that 750MC experience will come through and make it a good weekend but I know that a few red flags and other problem may cause a reduction in lunch/problems at the end of the day.
We will do our best to avoid these.

The one thing I can promise is great racing as usual and everything being done to run as early as possible.

Obviously we could do with more volunteers. So PM me if you can help.

I'm not playing in Vee so that will make things go more smoothly - though I will attend some of the meeting.

Looking at the entry lists and with my basic grasp of arithmetic, I count 428 cars, 155 of which have 2 (sets of) races making 583 entries. Some of these entries will have cars running in the heats and finals so probably over 600 race contestants.
17 practices and 23 Races over the 2 days.

Peter, many thanks for the advance warning, I'll bring lunch and tea just in case!

If anyone wants to join me in the pit lane, as usual I will be providing tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water and jelly babies (and if there are sufficient volunteers, cakes)! If it's a really, really hot day I'll be bringing the portable fridge too

Yes sorry about that but I wanted to wait until the timetable was produced and that took quite a time. The tickets and info have now been produced and stuffed (into envelopes) and will be posted later today.
Because the schedule was so full and tight, I wanted to let everyone know in advance rather than you all turn up and get a suprise about the last race on Saturday being 6.10. Sunday its 5.35.

Is that 06:10 and 05:35 or 18:10 and 17:35?

Yeah, but you haven't promised your spare tickets to someone who lives in Manchester! And with the post the way it is ....

Is there a curfew at Donington? I am racing in F4 and we are not due off untill 1705, or similar. I got caught out at Silverstone a few weeks ago when the Mono race was ended after just 3 laps due to the event attempting to run too many races & overunning.

As far as I am aware the curfew is 8 pm so you should be OK!

Circuit curfew may well by 8.pm, but I believe that 6.30 is plenty late enough for marshals. If you can tell all drivers that:
1 - The green flag lap is not there to dawdle around, but for warming tyres at a reasonable speeed.
2 - Always pull off in a safe place
3 - Dont have accidents.

Tickets have now arrived along with a time table.

Looks like it's going to be a busy weekend.

I did have a guide dog but just found the Hampster scared it away and is using the zimmer frame for exercising with.

I am worried the Hampster keeps looking at the cat then goes back to digging a large hole in the saw dust at the bottom of his cage.

also...

4 - keep the contents of the sump just there, in the sump.
5 - corner markers are not for target practice, please leave 'em alone!

Indeed, and Sunday morning's timetable is particularly complicated with races and qualifying sessions being interspersed.

Just had 2 more cancellations for Observers/Flags and, for Saturday, it's dire. If anyone is coming as ES and will flag, please contact me. I currently have allocated either an Observer OR Flag on each post and still have 3 not manned. Also - if anyone has experience of chief paddock and wants to take that job off me, I can help on the bank.

Perhaps if any driver breaks down on circuit, we should lift his car and leave him on the bank for the rest of the day to marshal.

That's an excellent idea! Perhaps if something breaks down in the pit lane I could use the same tactics?

Guess I'm flagging / observing then.

Now where I park the zimmer frame with the guide dog tied to it.
