eclectic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Who? What? When? Where?

I thought it might be fun to start a new picture competition, the winner gets to post a picture themselves for the next round.

As one of my interests is in pre WW1 racing, here's a picture to set it off.

Its not Edge, its not a Napier (not even a British make), not 1908 and not Brooklands!

Good inspired guess though.

I'm crossing to Tulsa this weekend to go and suss out some WW1 aero engines, so if any of you get the right answer it may be a few days before I see it.

Is it any one of a number of cars 'manufactured' in Nottingham between 1995 and 2006?

The car is a Darracq, but I can't identify the event, unless it's the French Eliminating Trials for the 1905 Gordon Bennett Trophy. But the driver doesn't look like Louis Wagner, who ran the #18 Darracq there.

Hemery also carried 18 in the 1905 Vanderbilt, but it doesn't look like him either!

OK, this should be an easy one.

Who are the drivers, what is the event and which year?

Crystal Palace had closed by then. I didn't ask the circuit as I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the Mallory Park oval.

If I'm right, please can someone else take the baton? I don't have any historic photos on disk and I certainly don't know how to upload....
