Stone Brothers Livery O7

Although the new livery hasn't appeared yet, they do have keyrings on their website which they say are in the 2007 livery.

Bettern than nothing at this stage.

Whoops.. was that a faux pax? Or a deliberate ploy to see how many notice

And if those colours are true, the cars could look quite good on track this year.

the way those curved streaks run up the car and get thinner as they go, it kinda reminds me of DJR's westpoint livery, and the blue/yellow bits on the Jeld-Wen car really remind me of Denyer's Summit version of teh DJR Westpoint car that he used in 05 & 06.

Based on those images, i like last years SBR liveries better.

Have they ever used the same design but with differeing colours on BOTH cars before like it would seem they are this year?

So the Jeldwen car goes from Blue with yellow side stripes to Yellow with Blue side stripes.
I'm a big SBR fan and a yellow car is bloddy awful !!!!
I hope the cars look good in the flesh but with yellow as a main colour i just can't see it.

In the latest issue of Auto Action it shows Courtney and Ingall holding a Layout of there cars for this year and they are the designs. And why would they produce merchandise that doesn't look like there cars?

Quite funny. That sure is a big oversight if they are actually the final liverys!

Are SBR having an open day this year?
It is usually around this time, but I haven't seen it listed anywhere, and SBR's website seems terribly out of date...

There is a picture in Auto Action (page 5) this week of Courney and Ingall holding up a poster with cars of similar liverys.
Shows front, back, side and roof.

Only difference i see in the numbers 9 and 4 are white on the pictures but red and yellow on the key ring.
And Courtneys has a bit more blue on the rear bumper.

Obviously all the small sponsors cant be shown on the key rings too.

Exactly, there are differences from the keyrings... which means they aren't the final liveries. Courtneys has quite a bit more blue.. and yellow wheels

From the SBR Website

"SBR's Gala Day off for 2007

The pre-season tradition of the Stone Brothers Racing Gala Day will not go ahead in 2007 due to time constraints on the team early in the New Year.

Team Manager Ross Stone says that the tight schedule between the end of this season and the start of the next has forced the decision.

"We had a late end to the 2006 season and SBR has sponsor ride day commitments continuing right up until a few days before Christmas,” explains Stone.

“Add to that an early start to next season and series launch commitments in February, it has just made it impossible for us to have a Gala Day in 2007."

True, but numbers are what is reported to race control, not sponsor names. You shouldn't have to look up the Caltex Vortek Falcon in the program to find out what number the car is. The purpose of the number is for identification, and if it is allowed to race in an unreadable form, then there is little point having a rule which states that the number must be clearly visible from side on. Hopefully as others say this is just a "prototype" design and it will be fixed on the real cars.

Personally, I find it annoying because it looks so unprofessional now days, having a big mess with the number plastered over it......... or having some humongous Nascar type number worked into the colour scheme some how. Black on white or white on black in a box isn't rocket science......... but it works very well.

I think your cluthching at straws there.

SBR produced the key rings to look like the 2007 livery on the cars and barring one or two small changes, they do.

There is always going to be a difference, one is painted on a racing car and the other is on a key ring barely bigger than a cigarette lighter.
They arent going to be exact so no need to nit pick.

By your rational we wouldnt ever see the final liverys till the last round of the year, because teams sometimes get extra sponsorship throughout the year or for special events like Bathust or Indy.

Basically 99.9% of people when looking at the keyring will see it as the 2007 livery. An extra splash of blue or an extra splash of yellow makes no difference.

I'm not clutching at straws. There was a complaint about the colour of the number. By my rationale all I said was it wasn't the final livery as the number colours were obviously changed along with a few other things, like the colour of wheels and the rear end of the Jeldwen car, along with what seems to be a darker blue instead of the tealy blue on the keyring.
