Cynic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Perhaps the issue we should really be addressing is 'does she have a sister?'.

What's this about boobs? I happen to enjoy seeing photos of attractive people of either sex - not in a sexual way, I just like pretty things. I also like paintings and music.

In what way? It's a photo of a girl in a race suit. Doesn't scream "Men only" to me.

I can think of quite a few promo pics of female race drivers that I've seen that are set up in the same way.

Quite a few of men too, looking sultry and moody for the camera.

Is that how you read it? What about the rest of the sentence:

"..women showing [...] their boobs on a site that is not about porn, [...] keeps on carrying on the stereotypes that men who like cars have their brains between their legs."

We'll ignore Karimbo's "It's a fact" for the moment

Ok, I'll agree that there are other sites other than porno sites where women have legitimate reasons for flashing some chest, perhaps for illustrating a medical condition perhaps..

But why should that be considered OK for a motorsport forum? The association between breasts and motorsport/cars is a long held one, for sure (just look at the popularity of car mags with scantily clad models on the cover, oh, and a car if you look *really* closely), but why prolong the sterotype that motorsport = breasts = women as objects for men to ogle?

Surely motorsport in this century has evolved past that now, with so many women involved in the sport in every discipline - racing/rallying/marshalling, and not just as 'eye candy' ?

I appreciate it that some may view this as 'glamourising' motorsport, but you also should concede that others just view it as, well - tacky, and perhaps a little old-fashioned. No offence to the lady in the pictures, or her other half, by the way.

ok so what you're saying is that if she was covered up to the neck, it would be ok but because she's showing some cleavage, it isn't?

As for motorsport evolving, do you see any women in here complaining? Nope. Because the women don't mind.

The simple fact of the matter is that the photo is simply an attractive picture containing the tenths logo that a user was kind enough to give us. No-one would object if it was a picture of a man looking butch with a racing car - and yet I would consider that to be far more indicative of a "men-only" attitude.

I'll happily concede that it's not everyone's cup of tea - nothing is. But I refuse to concede that it somehow devalues Tenths or that attractive girls who look attractive in photographs are nothing more than pornography.

You don't know that for sure. I've known a couple of women competing in motorsport, and everytime they mention they're involved in motorsport to someone, they get the answer "Oh, you mean you're a pitbabe?"

The stereotypical male sees women in motorsport as 'eye candy' and nothing more. If the sport wants to attract more women, then this sort of thing does it no favours.

Some people are blowing this WAY out of proportion.

1. It's a nice picture.
2. The amount of cleavage shown is mimimal. I can walk down on main street today and see more than that.
3. If you have an issue with it, then come up with something of your own that is better.

You're funny - the answer is yes....infact she has two.
Zoe is her elder sister (Early 20's) and Vicki her younger sister (13).
Both delightful ladies too... as is Haley.

If anyone wants to have a look at more shots from the photo shoot I have put them on my KODAK account on the web. (Please don't look if the one on the front page has offended you......cause you wont like these either. Sorry but I am on one of them as well.....Nice

You can see them at the following web address (cut and paste it in to your web browsers address bar:

Well we'll have to agree to differ. Me being a woman in motorsport and all. Ok no-one is ever going to mistake me for a pitbabe - or any kind of babe - but these days I work with just as many female marshals as men - occasionally more. Some of them are attractive too. I've even seen some of them wearing skimpy vest tops in the summer - the hussies. Doesn't seem to stop them being taken seriously when someone's car is on fire though (although I'll admit that the overalls will be up when approaching the fire!)

With regard to racing, well that's got nothing to do with photographs - that's to do with attitude and you'll find it as prevalent here as anywhere. It seems to show up in every thread we have to do with women racers. Mention that there should be a woman formula 1 driver around here and see what happens.

IME the kind of people who will treat women as objects and/or inferior will do so regardless. The field of interest is irrelevant.

Here here....well put EP.....BRA-vo....or is that sexist now too?

Incidentally if it is OK for companies like ITV and Fosters to have a PITBABES section on their websites.....why not on here?
Motorsport + pitbabes have been like bread+jam for donkeys years.

More pitbabes please.........:-) I need an excuse as to why I threw the car off into the kitty litter and they are a grrrrreat excuse :-)

There is nothing wrong with pictures like this, heck, even for toothpaste they are usually far "worse" (dare I use this word?) than the ones Lee made.
The pictures are like proper art work and well made.

Only thing that worries me Lee, as Hayley is wearing your suit (yes, I logged on your link), I hope she is not wearing your raceboots.

Okay, okay, I'll get me coat.

Lee if you use Powermax 3000 from autoglym at a 50/50 mix on your gearbox, scrub with a stiff brush and then rinse off with a hose or powerwash it will make your gearbox nice and shiny, try to avoid annodised bits though cos it sometimes attacks the die if its not a good annodising.

meh, I had an entire broadcast pulled for showing a woman wearing even more than that...

The thing is, whilst some see it as perfectly acceptable, others will make out it's the most outragous thing ever. It's impossible to please everyone.

The comment about women in Motorsport, I can see where that's coming from, but it's not just motorsport where this problem occurs - the entire automotive industry for starters.

Disclaimer : this may be bull by product.

I think it is perfectly acceptable, I've been involved in motorsport for far longer than my age suggests and I'd be quite happy to be referred to as a babe (pit or otherwise) but woe betide anybody (male or female) who suggests I'm anything less than serious about my involvement.

Pictures like this are not the problem, its a nice photo with a relevent logo. The problem is men who assume because a girl follows F1/football/any mainly male sport is because they fancy a participant, and other attitudes like that.

I can see both sides of the argument to be honest. I dont think it should be taken down but I do think a gallery is far better suited.

That way if you want to look at it you can and if you dont then its not the first thing you see.
