2 Day Race Meetings

In these days of tough economic times, why don't we look at having 2 day race meetings for the V8 circus.

Saturday - V8 practice in the morning and qualifying in the afternoon.

Sunday - All V8 races on Sunday.

Savings for the teams in accomodation, rental car expenses etc, savings for all officials, media and fans.

They tried this before - to accommodate the V8's over 2 days all other categories then need the Friday OR they all want Friday 'private practice' and the goons that be ie CAMS insist on a full complement of officials on the Friday.

IOW - no cost savings to anyone at all. The V8's still need to get into and set up on the Friday therefore they have accom costs from Thurs to Monday - no different to now.

The reason Race 1 is on Saturday is to draw a crowd.

If they got rid of the "entertainment sessions" they might be able to squeeze it all in though.

Fabrizio Giovanardi: I have like a banana - is the yellow car in front - that make me, you know, running like the monkey, running for the banana. When I see yellow in front, I just pushing harder and harder. I want that banana.

Channel 7 would probably knock this on the head. The money they charge for screening footage of support categories is part of the financial equation that makes the money they paid to V8 Supercar worth their while.

Don't forget the 90 min practice sessions, they need these to show the sponsors name, oops sorry we lost all the data and we need to do two 90 min practice sessions, as if we haven't raced here before.
Boring as Bats***.

I think this could go and save some dollars.

Don't forget - you have to also run the 'support' categories!
