Hmmm. All we seem to get is people bagging Minardi, Jordan, Jaguar,DC, Verstappen... I'll be glad when the season starts and people have something more positive to talk about.
Just imagine how active the forum would be with headlines like these... Webber wins amazing Melbourne GP for Jaguar... Bruni wins Imola! First ever win for Minardi... Jordan wins at the Nurburgring, Hiedfeld in control.. DC wins Monaco, Canada, Silverstone, Monza, and USGP! Pantano shatters GP regulars with first win at the French GP. France goes wild! Sato wins Japanese GP in a year where rookies shine! what an amazing year! And ten years on we'll go "Ah.. 2004...Those were the days.. A vintage year for F1..." If the Jordan can continue to up its pace during testing, hopefully Heidfeld can pick up regular points - even if they're only 5th-8ths...
Freak wins like last years Brazil happen only once every few years... Panis '96, Herbert '99, Fisichella '03. |

Testing times..... Imola 17/2/03
Yes, as mentioned earlier bizarly the EJ14 seem to be on a par with the 2003GA2004 aka the Sauber. But as they say its only testing.
17 February, Imola - Italy Place Driver Team Time laps 1 F. Alonso Renault 1.20.493 77 2 J. Trulli Renault 1.20.767 84 3 F. Massa Sauber 1.22.028 69 4 G. Fisichella Sauber 1.22.331 62 5 N. Heidfeld Jordan 1.22.408 62 6 G. Pantano Jordan 1.24.274 60 I also agree that Jordan is in a better state than this time last year when it really did look like curtains. Tomorrow, acording to statements by the head of test engineering James Robinson, "Now that we have over 2500km on the EJ14, tomorrow we hope to be able to start looking at performance criteria." So watch out Renault, Ferrari et all Last edited by bosch!; 18 Feb 2004 at 09:39. |

Good to see the Jordan going well (even if it is only testing). They've managed to get a good driver lineup when for so long it looked like it would be 2 pay drivers and the car seems to be going ok.
I can't see Jordan picking up many points (or any of the other midfield teams for that matter) the big 3 and Renault will pretty much lock out the points positions unless they have problems. |
